Top U.S. Senator On Intelligence And Homeland Security: Russia Trying 'To Bring Down Our Entire U.S. System'

PJ Media: GOP Intelligence Senator: Russia Trying 'to Bring Down Our Entire System'

WASHINGTON -- A Republican member of the Senate Intelligence and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committees warned Sunday that Russian hackers this election cycle "don't seem to be as focused on a candidate as they are just trying to be able to bring down our entire system."

The Senate Intelligence Committee's investigation into Russia's 2016 campaign influence operation continues, and Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.) lamented on ABC that distractions have taken Americans' eyes off the ball.

"I think the whole thing has gotten confused, quite frankly, is that Americans turn on the TV every day and regardless of what channel or where they go to look for news online or in print, it's constantly something else seems to be the story. I think we've lost track of the fact that the Russians were trying to interfere in our election and to sow chaos into our democracy. And every single day, I see a growing chaos in our democracy just in the constant accusations back and forth," he said.

Here is one small piece of how the Russians are messing in elections.

That's the narrative WNU, once you commit there's no going back.

I find in this instance the claim made about Russian continued involvement in elections. Then our noble editor questioned how interference could seriously impact elections in America. Thus the subject here is left open for opinions or other materials that might deal with the subject

Considering that the FBI has access to every email Trump has ever sent or received in his life and still can't come up with a case against him I'm not sure what gaining access to any politicians emails is going to help...unless they are hiding something. I wonder how much time Vox has dedicated to the content of the Posedta emails as opposed to who swiped them...must be the reason why 95% of Americans can't tell you anything about those very emails...that swung the election.

I am so sick of these intel idiots! The Media is ripping us a new one and nobody says or does anything. Social media is also tearing the heart out of normalcy. But, you'll hear nothing about this. The Russians....who are they again?

What happened? When did my Countrymen become so stupid? Does nobody do any research of their own anymore? People really take Wolf Blitzer for his word? Lol This is nothing new to anybody who keeps up with world politics and it's absolutely shocking that what seems like a small minority actually understand these practices.. God Bless the USA, I'm afraid we desperately need it..

“The Russians “ have been trying to bring down our system for almost 100 years. And they’ve used a lot more serious methods than trolling Facebook. THe hysterics over the latest attempts are more indicative of the colossal wave of indoctrinated ignorance and entitlement sweeping the US than anything the Russians are doing. A generations of fools conditioned to believe everything they’re told by academia, media and progressive pols.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a capsule of this idiotic mindset.

I am more fearful of my own government than the Russians.
The dishonesty and machinations of the prior occupant of the White House and his appointees is beyond my ability to digest. They were above the laws of the land. No wonder there is so much redacted this and classified that.
What has most recently shattered my trust even more is one of those FISA documents that started one of those Mueller "investigations". That was high school level stuff and was a frightening and stunning eye opener. The only thing missing is a Krystal Nacht event, brown shirts, the proper armband, and a calendar dated 1938. Herr Hitler would be envious.
How many here went to the south east Asia playground? If you didn't learn anything about how you came to be there, go to your library and go to the Vietnam history section. WARNING; Bring your barf bag.If you went to the Mideast recently, read the dubious intel and wheeling and dealing that got you to that charnel house.
Trust? That's a state of mind the suits use to their advantage too much of the time.

It's clear to me that CNN is likely foreign controlled. Sure, Fox is telling their own lies, but they don't try to instigate a resistance army. Even not under Obama was fox as extreme as cnn is now. Cnn gives more airtime to porn star lawyers than any previous presidents combined. Is this normal? And this porn star lawyer verbally guaranteed (!) To the cnn audience, that Trump colluded with Russia. How would he know any of this and why is cnn OK with giving so much airtime to a porn lawyer who has been extensively reported to have money and personal issues (see the divorce filling by his wife )...cnn is burning down this presidency and the will of the people who elected him. All in the clouds of porn Russia collision and the two owls (lemon and cooper) who need to wear glasses tolook intellectual enough to feed you this crap. Where is the accountability? Why aren't journalists speaking out against this clear violation of any norms that cnn stands for? And the outrage journalism machine marches on, at the front Acosta shouting at the president. You think that's normal behaviour for a news organisation? This is activism. This is lies. This is putting a porn star lawyer with money issues on to say anything. Just look at what's happening now. That lawyer wants to run for president of enough people fall for him and donate money so he can pay for his suits and expensive life style. Cnn. Omfg I used to watch you 5 years ago.

The facts are out there. Calling names is not working with facts. Example: someone here denounced Blitzer. Ok. Show us with examples, facts, where he lied or was wrong. If not, you are full of crap
Do not like our intel and think the lie? Ok. whom do you trust, like, believe? Tell us or shut the phuck up
Russia has always been doing this? sure. But there is clear evidence how they are working with social media and this is new. Think not? I could post evidence but Facebook has been summoned to explain why and how the Russians ARE presently doing this. Again: more evidence is there.
12 indictments of highly placed Russians is BS? I can show you the indictments withj the details!

Mike Feldhake said...

Go ahead, drink your cool aid. Those crimes have been happening for years and no one did anything until Trump became president. It's called a distraction.

MF...name calling is hardly dealing with facts, reality.
HERE IS THE INTEL IDICATION OF RUSSIAN INVOLVEMENT WITH OUR ELECTIONS Now show us where they are wrong, lying...You can not! so dump some more silly name calling junk to fill this page

FURTHER INDICATION OF SERIOUS RUSSIAN INVOLVEMENT IN AMERICAN ELECTIONS
Just the facts, mam...and here they are. Now dismiss them with your "evidence"!

The Democrat/Russia relationship is not collusion, but rather actual conspiracy. Way past collusion. The drip, drip off the veneer will continue re: the Mueller farce.

Then turn into a deluge if/when Manafort is acquitted.

It is customary to wait till a trial is over before announcing a verdict. That said: why the tiresome deflection rather than dealing with the substance of the posted article? The GOP in fact tried via Benghazi for a very long time and came up with zip

Anonymous said...

Wait..last week and the last two years prior you were in the lynch mob asking for impeachment of trump and calling him a traitor before (!) the verdict was out. Or do Democrats get special insights?

You lost all credibility on this issue a long time ago, Fred. You can even Google all your statements on trump... the beauty of search engines. Or just not feeling like mob mentality today and wanna be all constitutional all of a sudden? :)

fred said...

my oh my: name-calling is sure sign of lost cause
I never called for impeachement. I called for full investigation and then for the facts to dictate what got done or did not get done.

I challenge you then to open links in this comment section and show where they are wrong! Till such time, ease off the name calling.
Intel:CIA, FBI, NSA have all stated Russia intefered then and doing so now...but you have inside info that all these professionals are wrong? Ever worked with intel group? I have in military and I am more in line with what they say than what Rudy or Trump says

Really?? With the assess at the FBI who manipulated the cases, this is hardly an argument. Oh yes, these are facts; did you read the IG report?

Dear Heart, anon

Here is the Russian connection in 7 charts...now tell me there is nothing to this.
Whyis it that those supporting Trump are unable to argue without calling names to those who take a different position? I have spent 60 years looking for a coherent thought? My thinking in on record, published works and degrees. go forth and sin no more

Feldhake,
As predicted right on time. Oh Lapides I am cut to the quick. By the way it is "is on record", but who am I to gainsay a man with degrees, published works, and a very high opinion of himself. Perhaps through seance you could conjure up your buddy "Matt" who you were on first name basis, to testify for your self evident virtue, but of course communing with the angels such as you do, to stoop to help a lowly sinner such as I is magnanimous indeed. Oh, for composition's sake, please include more sniveling with your whining, you've proven yourself most adept at that genre.

Another crushing blow from Lapides. You really should use punctuation, surely all that time and money spent on a "degree" wasn't just a tragic waste, I can't believe it. Then again your "facts" and "sources" have the same consistency as your grammar.

Fred,

Thank you for the link on the Russian connection in seven charts. As the author admits, these tell us very little in and of themselves. These contacts appear to go back quite a while. The author of this appears to be having trouble explaining it. You seem to be having some trouble understanding as well.

I am going to attempt to explain this in the allotted 4,86 characters combined with my very limited time this may be a difficult task. No offense sir but you appear to come from a university background as a professor. In my experience, such people are often arrogant and cannot be taught anything. As such, I am not sure if you can or will be able to get this or not.

As a primer, I am going to suggest you carefully read the editor's comment regarding how diplomacy works when he discusses the article about China using AI to assist with their diplomacy. I also know from direct, first hand experience the same principles apply in the business world. You want the client. You follow these same steps. In one's personal life, you want the heart of that special someone, you do much the same things.

Essentially this all part of a very careful and meticulous diplomatic effort with a very powerful country whose leader is arguably the most powerful man in the world. Keep in mind we are going to have to have constructive working relations with this country if we are to achieve our goals and advance our interests. This has now been explained to you without name calling or other insults. Will you grasp it? I'm not holding my breath.

Already one diplomatic effort has been essentially destroyed due to petty politics. Will these sore losers succeed in destroying another one? We should pray not.

Is there a "third way" that might be preferable" Perhaps there is but it has not been presented yet. When given a choice between engagement, respecting the Russians, and treating them as equals or insanely going out of one's way to provoke conflict with them I am going to opt for the Trump approach every time.

I suspect many of us Americans will as well. After all part of why Trump was elected was to end Cold War 2. With that said Trump's actually policies bear little difference than his predecessor's and are in some ways tougher. The critics think he goes to far. In my opinion, he does not go far enough. At some point, the Russians are going to expect more than flowery words and will expect real action.

While the post has run long, the answer to your question is the "connections" represent a very careful and meticulous diplomatic effort put together over a long period of time. At this time, the express purpose of this was to establish necessary dialogue needed to end Cold War 2 or to, at the very least, reduce tensions. At least prior to the hysterical over the top Russiaphobia that manifested itself after the "Summit" these efforts were succeeding.

Unfortunately such hysterical over the top actions have likely undermined much of this. It also sends a message to Russia that the US is not a serious country and is not worth working with.

While the connections have huge benefits in terms of diplomacy. There is also much upside potential for business relations. After all if our leadership has connections and friendships with powerful world leaders this will help us in a whole host of areas. Essentially the connections have huge upside potential combined with no downside risks. Such connections should be encouraged and cultivated. As my time is very limited and my patience is even less right now, hopefully your question has been answered.

Aizino,

Very interesting. At one time Zuckerberg and crew had an excellent business model. Actually the business model still has excellent potential and is being used by millions on a regular basis. At some point, they are going to get tired of this crap by the government's collusion bull crap that has been and is being foisted on the public by these people. Perhaps it is beginning. At the end of the day, preserving the political careers of sore losers simply isn't worth the downside risks associated with such actions.

It's one side of the story. But there's other aspects. They could report on positive news. But that never sells. So neither cnn, nor msnbc - nor fox do it. Cnn and msnbc lie, mislead and exaggerate about many things related to Trump. And Fox doesn't only report on good things either. They need bad things to complain about too,so they complain about the fake news cnn media. It's a cycle. Trump understood how to feed the beast and he does it over and over and they will keep doing the same things too. Because Trump sells. He truly manages the news like no one else. 2 years into his presidency and people have forgotten that there ever was a time of presidents who didn't dream big. Trump will be up there with the big ones for sure. You gitta give him that. How big, now that depends on if he truly manages to accomplish great things or just keeps on marketing them like no one else.

Aizino,

Thank you for the reply to my posts. The stories of "Aaliyah" and "David Bowie" are most fascinating. Essentially the only people affected were the artists themselves, the hangers on, and in the case of Aaliyah the flight crew.

With this insane notion of Russian "collusion" and "interference" and how its being used as a rationale to ratchet up tensions and expand Cold War 2 the risks isn't limited to merely the political candidate, her supporters, and the various hangers on. This craziness places us all in danger. Picking fights with a major power like Russia will have grave consequences. At least the Nazis had the good sense to select the Jews who had little power or influence as their chief enemy. Going out of one's way to make arguably the world's most powerful country an enemy isn't very smart. In fact, it would be the definition of insanity.

Strict adherence to the Democratic party would run business models like Facebook and others into the ground and ultimately destroy them. As such, I think Zuckerberg and his team will eventually tire of this. Save your business or save Hillary and her hangers on, what do you choose? I think we know the answer to that.
