DYNUZ: Justice Dept. Plans to File Antitrust Charges Against Google in Coming Weeks
WASHINGTON — The Justice Department plans to bring an antitrust case against Google as soon as this month, after Attorney General William P. Barr overruled career lawyers who said they needed more time to build a strong case against one of the world’s wealthiest, most formidable technology companies, according to five people briefed on internal department conversations.
Justice Department officials told lawyers involved in the antitrust inquiry into Alphabet, the parent company of Google and YouTube, to wrap up their work by the end of September, according to three of the people. Most of the 40-odd lawyers who had been working on the investigation opposed the deadline. Some said they would not sign the complaint, and several of them left the case this summer.

ReplyDeleteI often tell people your site is great for seeing all sides because of the many articles you source. Google does not want people to have access to varied information sources so they see you as a threat and rope you together with conservatives who they also see as threats. Personally I view you the blog owner as a moderate. I could be wrong. I myself am conservative and I am proud to use your site. It is my favorite one for news.

My website was not findable for two years. Contacting Google is near impossible, which meant my business couldn't grow for that time. Then suddenly, my website appeared. No one knew why. Just some algorithm gone haywire. Sure sure.
ReplyDeleteWe need oversight. Google kills many small businesses and silences countless of voices. Time to break them up. I'm all for it
