Herb Scribner, Deseret News: Will President Trump address the nation?
Former acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney said on Fox Business Network’s “Varney & Co.” that Trump should address the nation
President Donald Trump should address the nation about his recent COVID-19 diagnosis, his chief of staff recently said.
What’s going on?
Former acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney’s spoke on Fox Business Network’s “Varney & Co.” Friday morning, saying Trump should address the entire nation about his recent COVID-19 diagnosis.
* “Yes, I think people will know. I mean if he’s on the phone, on a radio program, on a TV program, people will know and certainly the media will report it, but the questions are going to be, you know, what kind of symptoms does he have? Is he still healthy, is he getting sick and the president needs to just be very transparent, say look, ‘Here I am.’”
Mulvaney said Trump appears to be in good health. But he doesn’t want people to get the wrong message about how COVID-19 has affected him.
* “By the way, yes, he’s 74 years old but he is an extraordinarily healthy guy. He is — I couldn’t keep up with him when we were traveling together all around the world, so I’m not too concerned about the health, I’m just concerned about the perception and I think it’s important that he’d be out front and people know that he’s still there, he’s still president, cause things can run well like this.”

WNU Editor: If he is capable, a seven to ten minute address would be appropriate.
I hope not. A little peace and quiet is a good thing.
