AFP: China names 'Wolf Warrior' diplomat as new ambassador in Washington

One of China's most prominent "Wolf Warrior" diplomats was on Wednesday announced as his nation's new ambassador to the United States.

The hawkish Qin Gang, a close confidante of President Xi Jinping, has arrived in the US at a time of high tensions between Washington and Beijing, and is expected to deliver a combative message.

He gained prominence during two previous stints as foreign ministry spokesman, issuing barbed responses to foreign reporters and pioneering an aggressive style of defending China in the press and on social media dubbed "Wolf Warrior" diplomacy.

"As two big countries different in history, culture, social system and development stage, China and the United States are entering a new round of mutual exploration, understanding and adaptation, trying to find a way to get along with each other," Qin told reporters on his arrival.

Yes China did. The fake island's in South China Sea begin with Obama and his very weak reaction embolden China. Remember: he let china claiming the China sea even the Hague tribunal condemn that and in the Rose Garden Obama ask Xi Jimping "not to militarized" these Islands...3 month later missiles was in it. No reaction from Obama. Then more Island's.

  6. And what exactly was the Obama administration supposed to do, order the Pentagon to blow up the construction ships, kill a bunch of Chinese workers, start a war over a couple of sand castles? Or they could have issued sanctions, you know "maximum pressure", that worked out great in Iran, Cuba, Venezuela... LOl.

The laptop bombardiers and phony tough guys got all the answers.

  7. If I'm not mistaken the chinese government had signed a document to not militarize the South China Sea. If, 7:00PM, I have used the wrong word to describe what the document was that the chinese government and other countries had signed feel free to use your own word but don't make the argument there was no agreement among nations to not militarize that area of the world.
Their decision to create and fortify "islands" was and is a direct violation of a document they signed and then ignored.
Their doing this was a difficult situation for the US president at the time, given his propensity to overrate both himself and the power of his spoken word.
