Russian President Vladimir Putin brought an attractive female translator to a meeting with Donald Trump at the G20 Summit in Osaka in 2019 as a way to distract his American counterpart, a former White House aide has claimed.
In her not-yet-published memoirs, Stephanie Grisham claims that Fiona Hill, former Senior Director for Europe and Russia of the National Security Council, observed Putin’s subtle attempt to throw Trump off guard.
“As the meeting began, Fiona Hill leaned over and asked me if I had noticed Putin’s translator, who was a very attractive brunette woman with long hair, a pretty face, and a wonderful figure,” Grisham writes, according to an excerpt published in The New York Times. “She proceeded to tell me that she suspected the woman had been selected by Putin specifically to distract our president.”

WNU Editor: LOL. Putin did not bring an ‘attractive’ translator with a ‘wonderful figure’ to distract Trump at the 2019 G20 summit. She was there to make Putin look good.
On a personal note. From my experience all the ladies in the Russian Federation foreign ministry are not only very attractive, they are also very very very smart.

Washington D.C. – A new national survey conducted by John Bolton Super PAC of likely voters revealed huge political damage for both Donald Trump and Joe Biden stemming from the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. The deepest impact for Trump was suffering a stunning 20-point drop with 2024 Republican primary voters (46% in July to 26% in September). The poll finds Trump virtually tied (26.2%-25.2%) with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. This dramatic movement is the strongest evidence yet that Republican voters are tiring of Trump. 57% of Republicans say ‘to move forward we need new leaders and fresh faces.’ The poll was conducted after the withdrawal from Afghanistan was completed.

Stephanie Grisham is a doozy. Who voluntarily lays down on a bathroom floor? Grisham is very difficult on relationships. It is not say the the half of the equation were not problematic as well, but she has struck 3 times. That is personal, but it impinges on the professional. On the professional side, she never finished college. You can argue that college is overrated and it is, but she was a junior(?) when she dropped out. She never went back and finished it? She might have had 30 to 45 credits to complete. Then she is the press secretary that held few or no press conferences.
Fiona Hill is problematic as well. She is a liberal that throws political bombs with no repercussions. She ended up in the Brookings Institute.
The moral of the story is that Russian leaders had better bring 40-ish or older, heavy set and babushka looking. They had better not bring any woman higher than a 3 on a 10 scale or Fiona will have something to say about that!

A phrase at the beginning of a newspaper or magazine article that gives the date and place of its origin.
I always love it when Fred Lapides includes the dateline in a copy and paste. He purposefully leaves out the quotes and a link to the original article. Is it, so we think it is his own clever words? What do others think?
Many conservative radio hosts have said they preferred DeSantis to Trump. One reason is relative youth. They do not want 70 and 80 year old leaders. The other reason is the tweets. They do not criticize Trump. They just think it would be easier to get De Santis elected. The call DeSantis Trump without the tweets. Those are the man 2 reasons.
I do not mind Trumps tweets. It is a way to go around the censorship by the American media conglomerates. Trump is also a Republican that fights back. GWB just sat there and took it.

"Lol." This was my initial take as well. With Putin everything seems to be about making himself look good. Ge seems obsessed with his image and power whether it is posing bare chested with a tiger, bare chested with a rifle, or in general projecting a tough image. As such, it would be no surprise that he would bring beautiful woman to this important meeting to try and project an "alpha" image. As for president trump, he is happily married to one of the most beautiful women in the world. Such an action by a foreign leader isn't going to distract him, would likely be instantly recognized if it were attempted, and would be counter productive to whomever attempted it.
Claims such as this made by Ms. Grisham are laughable on their face. Respectfully, I think any serious person or serious foreign leader would instantly recognize the silliness of this claim. Unfortunately the US leadership class and much of the news media eat stuff like this up without any thought or remotely careful analysis. It leaves the impression that we are not a serious country.
