The Hill: Chinese officials promise groceries for residents under strict lockdown
Chinese officials promised to deliver groceries to residents of Xi’an, which is currently under the strictest lockdown of any major Chinese city since the start of the global pandemic, The Associated Press reported.
China’s Commerce Ministry spokesperson said Thursday that it has contacted nearby provinces to help ensure adequate supplies of everyday necessities for people under the lockdown.
The house deliveries include a box of 15 eggs, a five-pound bag of rice and some green vegetables.
Residents could expect either chicken or pork in their deliveries as well.

Wnu, what's the ethnic minority in that area? Betcha it ain't Han Chinese, such coincidence ;) correct me if I'm wrong though
For some reason it is hard to look up the ethnic groups of Xi'an. Xi'an was the original capital of China going back to the before 200 BC.
It is not too far from the eastern terminus of the Hexi/Gansu corridor which the Chinese have traditionally controlled. Any people are made up of strands, but the strand coming out of the Wei river valley is the foundational to China.
I would say the population is Han. The only suspicion I would have is that there may be some Hui, which are Han, who converted to Islam long ago.
Surnames of those quarantined might tell you. Or official records. Or having walked through the neighborhoods before the 'epidemic'. It would be hard for a civilian not from the area civilian to know.
