Market Watch: A speedy reversal of China COVID-19 restrictions could cause 1 million winter deaths: report
Chinese authorities appeared to bend to the will of the people on Wednesday by easing some of the harshest COVID-19 restrictions, but a new study showed the high price the country will pay if it tries to reopen too fast.
Asian macroeconomic advisory firm, Wigram Capital Advisors, is warning of a “winter wave” of COVID infections that could swamp the healthcare system, according to a report in the Financial Times, which reviewed the firm’s models.
Wigram, which takes into account vaccinations and age data in its modellings that it has provided to governments throughout the pandemic, is predicting a death toll of 20,000 a day by mid-March in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, with daily hospitalizations peaking at 70,000.

Um, where did this number, "THOUSANDS of people every day," come from?
Maybe they're panicking and doing these insane lockdowns because this variant might be the one ("accidentally") bio-engineered to sicken indigenous dna.

Given China's disgusting eating and hygiene habits, thousands probably die every day just from food-borne diseases. Like eating tiger penises, powdered rhino horns, monkey brains, and whatever other shit they consume.
The WHO puts it around 1500 to 2000 per day right now and that's with "zero" coming from China and a few other places left out of the count. Probably safe to say thousands as in a few thousand.
^ Don't forget shark fins, which are harvested leaving the remainder of the shark bodies to rot in the ocean.

According to CDC estimates (https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/index.html#), over 40k US residents died of influenza-related illnesses in 2018/19 alone. BEFORE Covid.

Where I live COVID only killed nursing home patients. In the US COVID killed under 350 or 300 children and those had pre-existing conditions like cancer.
With more testing of of RSV, flu and COVID, doctors, honest doctors, will find that the answer might be all of the above and that the deceased were on their last legs before any respiratory virus hit them.
TBH nursing homes are none for their calisthenics programs and the great verve and vigour of their residents. Look at Fred. He is feisty!
