WNU Editor: It is quite a sight to see an international arms dealer of all people label the US in such a manner. But he does have a point. The U.S. and Canada (where I live) is not the country that I knew 30 years ago. When I continuously read stories like this one .... Nearly 70% of Americans struggling to pay grocery bills, survey finds (FOX News), you know the country has changed, and IMHO not for the better.

If there is a worldwide economic downturn a comparative analysis of how different economic/political systems cope is appropriate.

Governments have been involved in planting stories in newspapers around the world (Russia). They have been involved in Twitter shadow bans and outright bans (US). They have bought Facebook ads (Russia)

The conversation was NOT about economic downturns nor comparative economic systems.
It was not about wage structure in different countries.
This was a singular comment by the editor comparing America NOW and America PAST. Not about how much better Russia or the US is doing.
And truthfully Skods, It does not matter who you are pulling for. It is how you structure your conversation and arguments: ad hominems, false analogies, illogical assertions, strawmen etc...
You are a case study on how NOT to present your ideas to an audience.
