VOA/Reuters: Brazil's Bolsonaro Lands in Florida, Avoiding Lula Handover
BRASiLIA, BRAZIL — Outgoing Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro landed in Florida on Friday after delivering a teary message to his supporters less than two days before his fierce leftist rival Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is set to take office.
An official Brazilian plane landed in Orlando, Florida, late Friday, flight-tracking website FlightAware showed. Although Bolsonaro's destination has not been officially confirmed, his security staff were already in place in Florida.
Bolsonaro's exit from Brazil came after he repeatedly said he would not hand over the presidential sash to Lula at Sunday's inauguration, breaking with Brazil's democratic tradition. He may also face legal risks from remaining in Brazil as his presidential immunity expires when Lula takes office.

In Brasil it is much like NYC. you know when you have Mayor Guiliani or you have a may or Dinkins or De Blasio. when it is bad you take you life in your hand crossing with the pedestrian signal in a crosswalk. Cars do not stop for stop signs or traffic lights. They are afraid of car jacking.
Fun,. what is fun. Fun is traveling as a passenger in a car going 20 to 40 mph and the driver consistently blows stops signs. They are honking their or or flashing their lights. the first one to flash their light or honk their horn has the right of way by law of the jungle. Who needs the fake thrill of a rollercoaster after such a ride?
With Lula in charge the crooks are back in charge. literal gangster in Rio will have a heyday. they re in league with Lula. Lula himself will get some cash or Petrobras or some corporation. you would hope being a socialist that he would not be corrupt. No such luck.
The same Biden administration that is backing Ukraine backs the socialists in Brasil to the hilt. Over a year ago the Biden adminsitration was threatening the Bolsanaro admin. Now they got the Lula admin and they are ecstatic. When things go south in Brasil, the Biden admin will be in part to blame. They stuck their nose in it for 2 tears now.

I lived in the Big Apple for over a year. It was not special then and now with the tax base fleeing, it will Detroit or Fallujah look like Paris in its heyday.
Been to Madison Square Garden, Broadway and another places. Nothing special. You go anywhere and they have several theatre groups in a 50 to 10 mile radius.

NY is not for everyone. You dislike it? ok. Do not live there. But why be dismissive of a place that is one of the great cities of the world as though in so doing you think this makes you superior?
Music, stock market, theater and on and on are located there and seem rather content in so doing.
I wish you well in where you live and am glad you are content there. But it does not make you and your life and your town better because you feel superior to other places.
I do not live in London norParis nor other nice and exciting places but I do recognize that they are fine for places for those want to live there.
note: for all the violence etc in many of our cities, I note that mass shooting at schools take place not in our cities but in more suburban places.
