Reuters: Zelenskiy Fires a Top Ukrainian Military Commander, No Reason Given

(Reuters) -Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Sunday fired a senior military commander helping lead the fight against Russian troops in the country's embattled east but gave no reason for the move.

In a one-line decree, Zelenskiy announced the dismissal of Eduard Moskalyov as commander of the joint forces of Ukraine, which are engaged in battles in the Donbas region.

Zelenskiy mentioned Moskalyov in a daily address on Friday when listing the military commanders he had spoken to.

Moskalyov had been in the post since March 2022, shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine. Neither the joint forces' Facebook nor Twitter accounts made any mention of the dismissal.

WNU editor: The battle for the city of Bakhmut has been ongoing since May of last year. While Russian casualties to take the city has been in the thousands, I have been hearing even worse numbers from people I trust on the Ukrainian side. Tens of thousands killed. Untold more wounded. The reason for this lopsided  casualty count is due to the massive Russian advantage in artillery. According to some reports, for every shell the Ukraine side fires at the Russian side, the Russians lob 10 to 15. You cannot win in a war of attrition when your enemy has such a decided advantage in firepower.

And it gets worse,

According to some reports there are currently 7,000 soldiers on the verge of being tapped in the city, and thousands more in the regions outside of the city who are about to be enveloped in the current Russian pincer assault. As this blog reported yesterday (link here). If these soldiers do not evacuate in the coming days, we may soon see 10,000+ Ukrainian soldiers surrendering.

So is the dismissal of Eduard Moskalyov as commander of the joint forces of Ukraine, who is/was also the commander directly engaged in battles in the Donbas region, being done to blame him for this military disaster? You betcha.

A prediction.

Once the fall of Bakhmut has been acknowledged by the Ukraine government, do not be surprised if Ukrainian forces launch an attack on Transniestria to divert the public's attention away from this military defeat .... This attack is part of a larger effort of distraction.

Ukies are losing in bahkmut. So they need to show that they are still powerful. So they consult with the NATO spec ops and OGA to see what is possible.
And the result is what you are seeing now.
Look for more of these in the coming weeks as the battlefield effort sours for Ukraine .
Key one to watch Is Moldavia . That is purely a USA devised effort. It is a USA attempt to put the Russians in an almost unwinnable position / operational ambush.

If there is a major push to kick Russians out of Moldavia, take it as a sign that the US is perfectly willing to go nuclear at that pount.

  2. Go Russia! The west has so much invested in this war though that I don’t see them letting it go. Transnistria will fall and it’s anyones guess where it goes from there.

Ukies know that next attack will come from the north. They blew up 2 AWAC's up there to stop them from mapping the air defence.

This gave them a few weeks.

Turns out the claimed A-50U attack actually failed (drone was brought down via electronic means) and the A-50U is currently fine. Who would've guessed?
