  1. It is not only the warnings since October 2022 that Russia might destroy the Kakhovka Dam, and, more recently, that the invaders were overfilling the dam, that cast doubts over Russia’s attempts to blame Ukraine for the catastrophic disaster now unfolding in Kherson oblast. Russia is also either building or destroying dams in occupied parts of Zaporizhzhia oblast, with its aim clearly to flood the territory and thus impede the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ anticipated counter-offensive.

The Centre for Journalist Investigations [CJI], citing local residents, reported on 7 June that the Russian invaders are either destroying dams on reservoirs or erecting them to ensure that the water overflows and floods roads and fields. It is assumed that the aim is to create bog-like conditions in the hope that this will prevent the advance of Ukraine’s Armed Forces.

  2. yes

What follows is you proof that the russians destroyed the dam......

    The journalist asks:
    - Does it really seem plausible to you that Russia destroyed the dam, thereby flooding the settlements where ethnic Russians live, and at the same time cutting off the water supply to Crimea? In my opinion, there is no more logic here than in undermining your own gas pipeline, don't you think?

    John Kirby says:
We haven't come to a conclusion yet. We are working with the Ukrainian side and trying to get as much information as possible.

HAHAHAHAHHA. What a joke. Kirby is a real weasel worded clown.

  3. A. No one knows who blew up dam.
    B. But Ukies did use the dam for HIMARS target practice about 3 months ago.
    C. It might not have been blown up. Might have been structural failure.

Last but not least..there are reports that the ukies will find it easier to move forward once the waters recede.

    maybe? Maybe not?

So who did this? Totally unknown

  4. It must hurt morale at the top of Ukrainian command to constantly be doing things that you know are unacceptable and need to be blamed on the Russians in order to maintain western goodwill. A number of people in cabinet-level positions, including Zelensky himself, are not a part of the nationalist inner-circle (Budanov, Kuleba, Danilov, etc) making such decisions. Eventually people start resigning, right?

  5. Yes,

In a society with some type of moral code.

But in modern western society, which the Ukraine is ape-ing, ..... there is no moral code. So...

  6. the two comments above are bullshit--Russia bootlickers. Putin has shown his rule to be a failure! There is a brain drain of the smart ones leaving Russia. There is a massive loss of soldiers. There is a huge drop in world prestige.

  9. The Russian government has blamed the Ukrainians for blowing up the dam, and the Ukrainians have blamed the Russians. Izvestia, the Russian government-sponsored “news” organization, claims to have video of the Ukrainian military attacking a dam, although the low-definition, nighttime video only shows a dam exploding.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned back in October that Russian forces were mining the dam. That same month, texts reportedly from someone connected to Russia’s 205th Motorized Rifle Brigade included descriptions of mining the dam. The Ukrainian government has now assigned responsibility to the same unit. Zelensky stated Tuesday, “It is physically impossible to blow it up somehow from the outside, by shelling. It was mined by the Russian occupiers. And they blew it up.” As the blogger for the Institute for the Study of War noted, if the Russians planned to destroy the dam, they would likely do so as part of a false-flag operation, blaming it on the Ukrainians.

Although assessments may change as more facts come to light, at this point it’s hard to see why the Ukrainians would destroy the dam. Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov offered that the Ukrainian counteroffensive had sputtered out after just two days, and “sabotage” against the dam was an act of wanton desperation. This description seems more apt for the Russians, who have lost all momentum and now await the Ukrainian counterattack, which will reportedly consist of between eight and 13 new brigades, or anywhere from 24,000 to 65,000 soldiers. If anyone was in need of a desperate, last-minute way to change the status quo, it was the Russians, not the Ukrainians.

read below. you are part of a msm false narrative ploy

The video in question allegedly shows a Russian soldier giving an interview in December in which he boasts that the Russian army mined the Kakhovka dam and plan to destroy it to create a cascading flood and wash away the Ukrainian troops downstream.

Not to be blunt, but this is an egregiously bad bit of trickery and it’s difficult to believe that people are falling for it. To begin with, this is an interview with a Ukrainian blogger and youtuber who goes by the screen name “Edgar Myrotvorets” - interestingly naming himself after the infamous Ukrainian kill list. The “Russian soldier” who he is interviewing is allegedly a gentleman named Yegor Guzenko. Yegor seems to be an interesting fellow - he pops up on social media periodically largely to confess to stereotyped Russian war crimes, like kidnapping civilians and executing Ukrainian prisoners, and of course blowing up dams.
