For more than six months, President Biden and his aides have been wrestling with one of the most vexing questions in the war in Ukraine: whether to risk letting Ukrainian forces run out of the artillery rounds they desperately need to fight Russia, or agree to ship them cluster munitions — widely banned weapons known to cause grievous injury to civilians, especially children.
On Thursday, Mr. Biden appeared on the verge of providing the cluster munitions to Ukraine, a step that would sharply separate him from many of his closest allies, who have signed an international treaty banning the use, stockpiling or transfer of such weapons.

Cluster bombs are horrible munitions. I don't understand why they are not banned. For the USA to be supplying these terrible bombs for use in Ukraine is just a dreadful comment on where we are as a nation--Satan has his grip on our nation, and I fear the US headed towards judgement.

These are not "cluster bombs". These are artillery submunitions. Some intern at CNN/MSNBC, etc googled "CLUSTER BOMB!" and came up with Viet Nam era pics of these long fuel-tank looking things that open up like clam shells and send 100s of bomblets into the ground where they arm on impact or revolutions on the way down. That is not what the Ukrainians asked for and they have no way to deliver those any way.
The old cluster bombs have the old nasty baggage of a very high dud rate (no blammo) then inevitably go off later and kill kittens and children.
These new artillery submunitions have a dud rate of about 1%. These are essentially large shotgun shells full of tungsten balls - precisely delivered by HIMARS.
So enough with John McCain's A-4 dropping "cluster bombs" on Russian forces.
Problem is McCain probably did drop bombs in Russian forces in Vietnam.

2) What does it matter after the Russians mined all of southern Ukraine with more mines that there are stars in the galaxy
3) There are more cluster munitions than just cluster bombs.
4) Russia has been using cluster munitions, but as usual Russia does not want others to follow suit.
