Armenia Says More Than 50,000 Refugees Have Fled Nagorno-Karabakh

DW: Nagorno-Karabakh: Nearly half of ethnic Armenians flee

Yerevan said more than 50,000 ethnic Armenians have fled in fear of reprisal from Azerbaijan. Meanwhile, Germany and the US are pushing to get independent observers into the breakaway region.

The Armenian government said at least 53,000 ethnic Armenians fled Nagorno-Karabakh since Azerbaijan's operation last week to take control of the breakaway region.

Meanwhile, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock on Wednesday called on Azerbaijan to allow international observers into Nagorno-Karabakh, to show Baku's commitment to protecting the people living there.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has also underlined the need for international observers and humanitarian aid in the region in a talk with Azerbaijan's President Aliyev, Washington says.

  1. Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is an agreement where Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Krygyzstan and Armenia agreed in 2002 to protect each other.

Obviously, Armenia made a mistake signing a treaty with Moscow.

    1. So a NATO backed country is invading and destroying territory and lives and that’s ok with you because they signed a treaty with Moscow? Once again western exceptionalism and hypocrisy rears it’s double speaking head in the WNU comment section. You must be a Yankee troll 🧌

  2. The US recently sent troops to Armenia to conduct military exercises with the Armenian military. I am not exactly sure why. Most if not all American liberals favor Muslims over Christians and slobber over themselves to kiss up to Muslims.

    Did Armenia bribe Joe Biden?

I see your NATO angle. Turkey. Turkey sold drones to Azerbaijan. Turkey is a red headed step child. It is NATO due to fear of Russia. Since 2000 turkey has gone down a dark path and the US has very little sway with Turkey. So fuck your angle.

Turkey is playing everyone against each other. It is why it is not in the EU. It is also why if the Russian formed a strategic partnership with Turkey they would always watch their back.

Reading thru history, it is interesting that unrest there started 3 years before the fall of the USSR. It tells you something about the strength of communism perhaps or maybe the strength or lack thereof of Russia/USSR.

  3. Lets see if the azeris have any further territorial ambitions. They got what they wanted and the rest of the world ignored it. Lets see if they try to take any other chunks of armenian inhabited territories. Then we'll know exactly what their goals trully are.

And he found one “consulting” at Macro Advisory Partners.

Co-founded by Nader Mousavizadeh, an Iranian from Europe, who worked as a special assistant to the notoriously corrupt former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, the former UN employee brought along Laila Manji, another UN veteran who had also worked for Annan.

Sir John Sawers, the former chief of Britain’s Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) joined Macro Advisory Partners and acts as its chair and general partner. David Claydon, its former co-founder and CEO, was an adviser to Britain’s Foreign Secretary.

Macro scored a coup by bringing on board not only Biden’s future national security adviser, but also Bill Burns, Biden’s somewhat unexpected choice for CIA Director. Also on board was Denis McDonough, Obama’s former national security adviser, currently acting as Biden’s VA Secretary.

  9. Thomas Friedman’s New York Times column, the sort of nonsense read by the cognoscenti, included long quotes from Mousavizadeh on China in which the Macro boss argued against viewing China as promoting the “global spread of authoritarianism” and warned that fighting back would only make China more nationalistic.

Only idiots regularly read the ew York times other than keeping tabs on the Democrats.

  12. The UAW's lead negotiator in contract talks with General Motors on Wednesday issued a scathing assessment of former President Donald Trump hours before Trump was due to speak in Detroit.

UAW Vice President for General Motors Mike Booth sent the Detroit Free Press a profanity-laden email about his thoughts on Trump's trip to Michigan.

"Let me be blunt. Donald Trump is coming off as a pompous (expletive)," Booth said in an email. "Coming to Michigan to speak at a nonunion employer and pretending it has anything to do with our fight at the Big Three is just more verbal diarrhea from the former president."

  13. Since you all left the thread about 5 posts back

here is a new one. Supposedly this has happened in the last month or so.

More than 10,0000 Ukrainian soldiers have chosen life and used the 149.200 ‘Volga’ frequency to surrender. The prisoners are well-fed and are provided with all the necessary medical care,” the source stated.

Reason to post this. can anyone confirm or deny? Fact or fiction? It is from TASS so automatically suspect.

I will say this though, In situations like this war,

In the Past, When an army starts to break and units start surrendering in mass, it gets real bad, real fast.

Historically you have to send security units in and the Gendarmes shoot deserters on the spot.

and if you do not put strick measures into place, most of your units go belly up.

This goes for any side, especially historically in Eastern Europe.

The Freedom of Russia legion announced that they have restarted operations in the Bilhorod region in Russia.

"There are no wounded or dead among the legionnaires, we are working according to plan. Leave the tales about minefields to Konashenkov. We continue to cleanse our house of Putin’s filth," they emphasize.

Russia keeps stripping troops from Syria, Armenia, Kola Peninsula, The far East, the Kupyansk offensive (multiple times) just to barely hold or slowly give ground around Verbove.

    Russia is being bled white.

Is Greater Kazakhstan or Greater Chechnya in the offing?

The former I d not think so.

The latter do not care if Russia has nukes. Remember Beslan?

  20. A video of the crashed Il-76 in Mali appeared. The plane shoots over the runway and goes up in flames.

It is claimed that the plane, which is registered in Belarus, was operating for PMC Wagner.

The crash occurred on September 23.

    Survey says

    a) Overloaded plane (Is Russia or Wagner so cash strapped they are checking the cushions for change and overloading planes?

    b) Pilot error

    c) Poor procedure and training for pilots

No spoilers actuated (or at least noticed) should have gone around if it had already missed that much runway

Pilot may have messed up with the reverser. hitting them late and maybe forgetting to un-apply them when he tried to take off again

Those would be the horses. More likely than zebras or so it looks at this point in time.

You keep on sending this snippets of blues from the neon web sites you inhabit. Tell Hillary to quiet her jabbering because we know she will help bleed the Ukies out.

Russia has problems at the border with the funky legionnaires? What a joke. Those guys do not have 1/10th of the power that the cartels have on your border or the gangs have in your cities. Poor border security?

Go to the Mexican border and see for your self.

Tell the rest of your Gang that Russia is not dying, by any means.. even though it is at war and under sanctions.

but your country? Just look at Philadelphia and California as well as the rest of your big cities. keep going the way you are and next year you will not have elections you will have chaos.

You do not see all that in Russia today. You are on a sinking ship. But like the Titanic, They do not want to say anything until it is too late. then you will be trapped.

The purpose of this post? Stop sending crap minutia, and post when you have any real news. You waste everybody's time. Go back and stay at your ideological deluded NEOCON site where you said you were gong to go and listen to your dufuss echo chamber all day long.

Russia will probably win this war... PROBABLY. But that depends on a lot of different factors. One thing is absolutely true. Russia is NOT dying. That is a lie.

  22. Russia is not dying: true, for sure. But it is now reduced from a major player militarily and replaced by China and soon India.

Typically, union presidents are non-federal elected Democrats. They exist to serve the DNC.

Your average union chief who shills for Democrats will need far more than another 40% raise if we get another loser Democrat creating yet more inflation.

Booth is good at running his mouth and looking out for his pocket book. Her is not good for rank and file.

  26. Union leaders urge union members to vote Democrat. Union leaders steer most union dues toward Democrats. Democrats created the latest but of extreme inflation with their misnamed Inflation Reduction Act. The latest round of Democrat caused inflation is why the union is asking for the never before increase of 40%. Democrat caused inflation and Democrat governance has been that bad.

Even Joe Biden says he regrets naming the IRA as he did.

Biden reveals an Inflation Reduction Act regret: 'I wish I hadn’t called it that'

Spending without a concomitant increase in supply (productivity) is inflationary. The more you do it; the worse it is.

  31. Self-induced idiot?

You object to that label applied to you?

I lived in a country with very bad inflation. You know the type. It is where the government introduced a new currency every several years to replace the old currency which has been inflated out the butt.

So la familia moves to a new country. The old man tells me I am going to give you an allowance. you can have a dollar in American dollars or y0u can have #1.60 in the local currency. Like a dumb shit I took the local currency. I can do fractions. I was told ahead of time that the local currency could depreciate. Eyes wide open like a dumb ass Democrat, I took my allowance in the local currency. With in 1 year I had a bad deal and I did it to myself. The old man wanted to teach a lesson. He did. It took me around a year to learn it when it should have take me 2 minutes.

So I am telling you this to explain why I do not appreciate the stupidity and thuggery of Mike Booth and Jojo Biden. They caused the inflation that Mikey is grousing about.

They caused and control what they complain about. How stupid is that?

    About as stupid as you.
