CNN: A NATO country could soon have a pro-Russian leader
Slovakia is getting ready to elect its fifth prime minister in just four years, and with Kremlin sympathizer Robert Fico’s opposition party leading the polls, it is one being watched with alarm in the West.
Since Russia invaded Ukraine last February, Slovakia has been one of Kyiv’s staunchest allies. The two countries share a border, Slovakia was the first country to send air defenses to Ukraine and it welcomed tens of thousands of refugees.
But all that could change if Fico comes to power. The former prime minister makes no secret of his sympathies towards the Kremlin and has blamed “Ukrainian Nazis and fascists” for provoking Russia’s President Vladimir Putin into launching the invasion, repeating the false narrative Putin has used to justify his invasion.
WNU Editor: Since the start of the Russia - Ukraine war a number of European governments have been defeated in national elections. My gut is telling me the same will happen with the current government in Slovakia.
Update: Russia is following this election very closely, and this assessment is probably correct .... NATO country's pro-Ukraine government to lose election – polls (RT)

Slovakians are geographically real close to this war, They are going the right thing. Take no part of this mess. If The Americans and Nato want to be stupid so be it. But The Americans are not on the front lines either.
Ease to say you want immigrants too, when it is not your neighborhood being invaded by them. No skin in the game.
100 percent correct it will be a snowball effect.
Ah yes. The guy who has a sketchy association with the murder of Jan Kuciak.
Considering Russians hate the free press and journalists, this guy would find himself in good company.
Give us a break. That has no relationship to the story.
Russians hate free press????Where you get that dude?It was the West that banned everything coming out if Russia including RT one of a handful of REAL news sites left on the planet
I just find it interesting that according to the West, anyone not 100% behind Ukraine must be pro Russian. How about just wanting to be neutral and fixing their internal problems first.
above: when one nation invades another either you approve or you do not. If you "remain neutral" then you simply do not care one way or the other. Not mature in my view.
Your view is very limited, to the point it is not mature.
