  1. Alleged Ukrainian plot to kill 77 Russian pilots with poisoned cake and whiskey foiled

An audacious plot allegedly concocted by Ukrainian intelligence operatives to wiped out dozens of Russian pilots with poisoned cake and whiskey was foiled at the last minute, according to a report.

The incident took place Saturday at the Armavir Higher Military Aviation School in Russia’s Krasnodar region.

The elite flight school located in the city of Armavir was hosting a banquet in honor of its alumni who graduated from the institution 20 years ago.

There were 77 guests at the party, among them active-duty pilots holding senior ranks in Russia’s air force, reported the Russian telegram channel Fighterbomber.

In the middle of the festivities, a deliveryman showed up carrying an enormous cake weighing more than 44 pounds and several cases of Jameson Irish Whiskey, all courtesy of the flight school’s unknown “grateful admirers,” the report stated.

While the gargantuan two-tier cake was being sliced, the much-impressed alumni busied themselves with taking selfies and posting words of thanks in their private chat groups.

At the same time, everyone at the party began trying to find out who had sent the offerings.

An official at the academy in charge of security pulled a screenshot of the deliveryman from the CCTV video, who was subsequently identified as 32-year-old Egor Semenov, a native of the occupied Ukrainian city of Melitopol.

The suspect was said to have raced to the Stavropol airport to purchase a plane ticket to Moscow, but his escape plan was thwarted by local authorities who detained him, reported the Telegram channel Baza.
