New York Times: Gaza Civilians, Under Israeli Barrage, Are Being Killed at Historic Pace
Even a conservative assessment of the reported Gaza casualty figures shows that the rate of death during Israel’s assault has few precedents in this century, experts say. Israel has cast the deaths of civilians in the Gaza Strip as a regrettable but unavoidable part of modern conflict, pointing to the heavy human toll from military campaigns the United States itself once waged in Iraq and Syria.
But a review of past conflicts and interviews with casualty and weapons experts suggest that Israel’s assault is different.
While wartime death tolls will never be exact, experts say that even a conservative reading of the casualty figures reported from Gaza shows that the pace of death during Israel’s campaign has few precedents in this century.
People are being killed in Gaza more quickly, they say, than in even the deadliest moments of U.S.-led attacks in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan, which were themselves widely criticized by human rights groups.

it is called "war," ie, striking back at a foe that hides in mosques and hospitals and uses missiles randomly shot at Israel. We innocent ones are used to armies confronting each other and avoiding civilians when possible.

There should be no Palestinian civilians in Gaza. Corridors were opened for them to evacuate. The Egyptians refused to admit them and Hamas forbade them to evacuate.

I am well up there in years. Had a friend, now dead, who, as a young boy, went with a buch of rabbis to Palestine prior to the creation of the state of Israel. And so, yes, there were Jews there. The rabbis did not go there to visit local Arabs but to visit biblical sites of their belief. And yes, there were Jews there.
When I see these people, MSM, Government officials, activists, take Hamas at their word, I am reminded of the Peanuts carton/movie when Lucy would convince Charlie to kick the football and she would hold it. She would pull it away when Charlie Brown tried to kick it and he would fall flat on his back. Charlie fell for it every time.
until the Palestinians release a list of name and photos to match, I am not moved by anything about their civilian deaths. The Israelis can provide a list. They also have morgue photos and obituary info. They have a large comprehensive investigation where they will know where each person was killed and how they were killed. You sure couldn't expect a professor or reporter or politician or activists to ask for proof can you.

The choice now is between a pro-western modern nation or a medieval-level false fanatical religious and dangerous anti-western peoples. I vote to keep Israel and let them clear historical Israel of all Palestinians
