Al Jazeera: ISIL leader in Yemen captured, says Saudi-led coalition

Saudi and Yemeni forces captured Abu Osama al-Muhajer and other members of ISIL during a raid on June 3, says official.

Saudi and Yemeni forces have captured the head of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant's (ISIL or ISIS) branch in Yemen, according to an official.

Abu Osama al-Muhajer was captured in a June 3 raid on a house that was under surveillance, Turki al-Maliki, a spokesman for the Saudi-led military coalition fighting in Yemen, said in a statement on Tuesday.

Thee other members of the group, including its chief financial officer, were also caught in the 10-minute operation.

A handful of terrorists-in-training can be seen standing with their legs apart while an ISIS instructor kicks them in the groin with force.

Reuters: Suicide bombing kills soldiers in Yemen, claimed by Islamic State

A suicide bomber killed at least 49 soldiers gathered to receive their monthly pay in the southern Yemeni port city of Aden on Sunday, officials said, as Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack.

Officials said at least 60 other troops were wounded in the attack, which occurred near al-Sawlaban military base in Aden's Khor Maksar district, where another Islamic State suicide bomber blew himself up a week ago killing 50 soldiers.

Aden is the temporary capital of Yemen's internationally recognized government in exile in neighbouring Saudi Arabia. It has been battling the armed Iran-aligned Houthi movement since 2014.

Islamic State Suicide Bombings Kill Dozens In Yemen

CNN: More than 40 killed in Yemen suicide attacks

(CNN)At least 42 people, mostly soldiers and one child, were killed when attackers launched four suicide car bombings at security targets in a major Yemeni city, two senior government officials told CNN.

The attacks occurred in Mukalla, a southeastern port city in Hadramaut province.
At least 30 people were injured -- all security officers except for five civilians, according to the two officials, both of whom are in the provincial governor's office.
One of the attacks targeted a military compound near a government intelligence building. The others targeted military checkpoints. A child walking near one of the checkpoints was killed.

At least 40 people, most of them army recruits, have been killed in two bomb attacks claimed by so-called Islamic State (IS) in the Yemeni city of Aden.

In the first, a suicide bomber targeted young men queuing to enlist at the home of a senior army commander.

Shortly afterwards there was a second blast at a nearby army base.

Aden is serving as the temporary home of Yemen's government while it seeks to regain control of the capital, Sanaa, from the Houthi rebel movement.

Supporters of ISIS have 'declared a caliphate' in Yemen through a bizarre video showing a group of masked fighters a barren desert.

The video, allegedly shot near the capital of Sanaa, sees some 20 men wearing desert camouflage uniforms carry out a carefully choreographed rifle routine in the sand.

The 'establishing' of an ISIS-related group in Yemen comes after months of conflict which has seen Iran-backed Houthi rebels fight both the government and the local Al Qaeda affiliates.
