Bill and Hillary Clinton launched their 13-city paid speaking tour in a Canadian hockey arena Tuesday evening, where there were banks of empty seats and the power couple accused President Trump of joining a Saudi 'cover-up.'

The Clintons riffed on issues ranging form the U.S. elections to the Iran deal, the killing of Osama bin Laden, and the murder of Saudi dissident Khashoggi, and got a warm reception from the crowd as they jabbed at the Trump administration from north of the border.

'What makes this so troubling is how much commercial interest both the president's family and business and his son in law's family and business have with the kingdom,' said Hillary Clinton in one of a series of shots at President Trump, who defeated her in 2016.

Remember When President Clinton Lost The Nuclear Codes For Months

A military aide, carrying the "football" containing launch codes for nuclear weapons, accompanies President Donald Trump in Washington, DC, February 3, 2017. Reuters

Business Insider: Bill Clinton once lost the nuclear codes for months, and a 'comedy of errors' kept anyone from finding out

* The codes needed to launch a US nuclear strike are supposed to be kept close to the president at all times.
* A department within the Defense Department is tasked with overseeing all aspects of the nuclear-launch process, including the codes.
* During Bill Clinton's presidency, officials from that department discovered the codes had gone missing.

The process the president has to go through to launch the US's nuclear weapons isn't as simple as pressing a button, but the key component of that process — the codes needed to authorize the launch — are never far from the president.

At least they're never supposed to be.

According to Gen. Hugh Shelton, who was chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from October 1997 to September 2001, the number of redundancies in the nuclear-launch process "is staggering." All of steps are "dependent on one vital element without which there can be no launch," he wrote in his 2010 autobiography, "Without Hesitation: The Odyssey of an American Warrior."

Bill Clinton Is Still Bitter

Hillary Clinton gave a speech to her supporters at The Plaza Hotel on Thursday night

Politico: Bill Clinton: Trump knows how to get 'angry, white men to vote for him'

President-elect Donald Trump “doesn’t know much,” former President Bill Clinton told a local newspaper earlier this month, but “one thing he does know is how to get angry, white men to vote for him.”

Clinton spoke to a reporter from The Record-Review, a weekly newspaper serving the towns of Bedford and Pound Ridge, New York, not far from the Clintons’ home in Chappaqua, New York. The former president held court on Dec. 10 in Pleasantville, New York, where he took questions from the reporter and other customers inside a small bookstore.

Ukrainian Oligarchs Have Been The Biggest Donors To The Clinton's Foundation

Zero Hedge: Clinton Foundation’s Deep Financial Ties to Ukrainian Oligarch Revealed

Clinton Foundation’s Deep Financial Ties to Ukrainian Oligarch Who Pushed for Closer Ties to EU Revealed

Between 2009 and 2013, including when Mrs. Clinton was secretary of state, the Clinton Foundation received at least $8.6 million from the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, according to that foundation, which is based in Kiev, Ukraine. It was created by Mr. Pinchuk, whose fortune stems from a pipe-making company. He served two terms as an elected member of the Ukrainian Parliament and is a proponent of closer ties between Ukraine and the European Union.

In 2008, Mr. Pinchuk made a five-year, $29 million commitment to the Clinton Global Initiative, a wing of the foundation that coordinates charitable projects and funding for them but doesn’t handle the money. The pledge was to fund a program to train future Ukrainian leaders and professionals “to modernize Ukraine,” according to the Clinton Foundation. Several alumni are current members of the Ukrainian Parliament. Actual donations so far amount to only $1.8 million, a Pinchuk foundation spokesman said, citing the impact of the 2008 financial crisis.

Former President Bill Clinton: 'U.S. Has Proven It Can't Win An Iraq Land War'

Bill Clinton: U.S. Has Proven It Can't Win An Iraq Land War -- CNN

(CNN) -- Former President Bill Clinton voiced support for the U.S. strategy to defeat ISIS and said only the Iraqi people can win a land war in Iraq.

Speaking Thursday night on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," Clinton said the United States has proven it can't win an Iraq war with boots on the ground, but that moderate Sunni tribal leaders working with an inclusive Iraqi government can.

"We can't win a land war in Iraq, but they can and we can help them," Clinton said.

Clinton said he thinks President Barack Obama's strategy to combat ISIS, or the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, "has a chance to succeed."

My Comment: Yes .... the Iraqi people need to be the ones who must lead the fight. But I disagree with his comment that the U.S. is not capable of winning an Iraq land war .... the problem has never been America or the U.S. military .... the problem has always been in Washington and from the politicians who run the place .... Bill Clinton included.

Former U.S. President Clinton Comments On The NSA Spying Revelations

Bill Clinton Says NSA Spying Revelations Harmed U.S. Ties With Allies -- Bloomberg Businessweek

Former President Bill Clinton said allegations that the National Security Agency spied on world leaders have damaged relations with U.S. allies and show the need for stricter rules on intelligence gathering.

Clinton said that while he was president, from 1993 to 2001, he had “serious reservations” about eavesdropping on other leaders’ communications. Even so, “we didn’t have the capability then to do a lot of what’s being done today” by U.S. intelligence agencies, he said in an interview broadcast last night on the Fusion television network.

Revelations in media reports about the extent of data and communications swept up by the NSA since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks have complicated U.S. relations with allies as President Barack Obama works on a trans-Atlantic trade agreement and other initiatives.

CNN Interview: Former President Bill Clinton Says Russian President Vladimir Putin Can Be Trusted

CNN Interview: Clinton Suggests Putin Can Be Trusted -- CNN

(CNN) - Former President Bill Clinton said Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin can be trusted, but cautioned the United States will "just have to see what happens" over efforts to disarm Syria of its chemical weapons.

"You work for the best and prepare for the worst in this business.

But I think it would be a terrible mistake not to take advantage of the opportunity," he told CNN's Piers Morgan at the Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting in New York. "And, you know, look, Mr. Putin is very smart."

Clinton said he knows the Russian president well, and they have a "brutally blunt" relationship. He said Putin had never reneged on a personal agreement with him. "He kept his word in all the deals we made," Clinton said.

My Comment: I suspect that these comments are raising some eyebrows in Washington and elsewhere.

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton Urges A More Forceful U.S. Response On Syria

Bill Clinton Splits With President Obama On Syria -- Politico

Bill Clinton told Sen. John McCain he agrees that President Barack Obama should act more forcefully to support anti-Assad rebels in Syria, saying the American public elects presidents and members of Congress “to see down the road” and “to win.”

At another point during a closed-press event Tuesday, Clinton implied that Obama or any president risks looking like “a total fool” if they listen too closely to opinion polls and act too cautiously. He used his own decisions on Kosovo and Bosnia as a point of reference.

The former president also said commanders-in-chief should avoid over-interpreting public opinion polls about whether the United States should get involved in crises overseas.

President Clinton's Nuclear Codes Were Missing For A Few Months

Former Chairman of Joint Chiefs Says Nuclear 'Biscuit' Went Missing for Months.

When you're President of the United States, you can lose a vote, you can lose popular support, and you can lose a round of golf. But you're never, ever supposed to lose the biscuit.

That's what they call the card the president is meant to keep close at hand, bearing the codes that he has to have in order to launch a nuclear attack. And for several months during the Clinton administration, a former top military officer says they lost the biscuit.
