President of Tajikistan Lectures Russian President Putin And Tells Him 'We Want To Be Respected'

Daily Mail: Now Putin has to listen to lectures from the President of TAJIKISTAN: Central Asian Republic boss berates Russian leader and tells him: 'We want to be respected'

* Putin receives emotional dressing down from the President of Tajikistan

* Just the latest humiliation he has had to endure at hands of his Asian 'friends'

* Dictator Emomali Rahmon demanded 'respect' and warned Putin of his demise

* The outburst took place at a Central Asian summit in front of other leaders

Vladimir Putin was given a stern dressing down by the president of Tajikistan in another indicator that the Russian dictator has lost respect and influence in his own backyard.

Fellow longstanding dictator Emomali Rahmon, ruler of the Central Asian state of 9 million since 1994, seized upon Putin's woes back home and in Ukraine to give him a piece of his mind and tell him how he really feels during a summit in the Kazakh capital of Astana.

A glum and awkward looking Putin slouched back in his chair and took the seven minute tirade as a host of Central Asian leaders and officials at the Commonwealth Of Independent States Summit (CIS) watched on.

WNU Editor: It is too bad that most of my readers do not understand Russian. But the above video is one hell of a dressing down of the Russian President Putin.

But there is deeper reason why the Tajikistan President is not happy. For one .... he is asking Russia for more aid and Moscow has been slow to respond (link here). And two .... Russia is mediating the border conflict between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, and it looks like the Tajik President is not happy with Russia's involvement .... It Looks Like Russia Will Be Deploying Military Forces To The Tajik - Afghan Border?

TASS: Putin, Rahmon focus on situation on Tajik-Afghan border — Kremlin

Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed Moscow's readiness to provide Tajikistan with the necessary support

MOSCOW, July 5. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has discussed the situation on the Tajik-Afghan border with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon, the Kremlin stated on Monday. "

[The two presidents] discussed in detail the complicated situation on the Tajik-Afghan border, which was triggered by an escalation of armed confrontation in Afghanistan, including in the border area," the statement said.

In the phone call, Putin confirmed Moscow’s readiness to "provide Tajikistan with the necessary support - both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO)."

WNU Editor: Russia has a security treaty with Tajikistan that will oblige it to send military forces to the country to defend it's borders.

The Kremlin is concerned on what is unfolding in Afghanistan .... Russia alarmed about situation in Afghanistan after US troop pullout, says Kremlin (TASS). They are seeing the Taliban advancing, and the Afghan army fleeing across the border .... Afghanistan: Soldiers flee to Tajikistan after militant clashes (BBC). More here .... There is also a growing consensus among Russian "experts" that the US and its allies will be facing a humiliating defeat at the hands of the Taliban in the coming months/year .... Taliban’s intensified attacks suggest humiliating US defeat in Afghanistan — expert (TASS).

They are also expecting a massive flood of refugees should the Kabul government fall.

As to what is my prediction?

I expect Russia will be deploying a large contingent of military forces to the Tajik - Afghan border in the next few months (if not sooner). I also expect Russian military forces will be deployed to Tajikistan and Turkmenistan since they also share a border with Afghanistan.

Russia Pledges Support For Tajikistan Amid Concern Over Afghanistan And The Possibility Of A Taliban Victory

RFE: Russia Pledges Support For Tajikistan Amid Concern Over Afghanistan

President Vladimir Putin says Russia is working on strengthening its military base in Tajikistan to boost regional security as the situation escalates in Afghanistan.

During a meeting with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon on May 8, Putin also said that Russia helps to “strengthen Tajikistan’s armed forces.”

Rahmon raised concerns over the rising tensions in neighboring Afghanistan since the United States' announcement last month that it will pull out all remaining American troops by September 11.

"I know you are concerned about this situation… For our part, we are doing everything we can to support you," Putin told Rahmon.

Tajikistan hosts about 7,000 troops from Russia’s 201st Motor Rifle Division that are stationed in three facilities.

Update: Putin pledges support for Tajikistan as Afghanistan concerns mount -RIA (Reuters)

WNU Editor: Tajikistan shares a border with Afghanistan, and the consensus in Moscow is that it is only a matter of time before the Taliban control Afghanistan. Moscow also expects the Taliban in Afghanistan will try to spread their Islamic revolution to other countries. Tajikistan included.
