CNN: DHS warns of potential Iranian attacks, updates terror advisory

The Department of Homeland Security on Saturday updated its terrorism threat advisory system following the US airstrike targeting a top Iranian general and is warning of the potential for Iranian cyber attacks.

Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf issued a new National Terrorism Advisory System bulletin in the wake of the drone attack, which killed the head of the Revolutionary Guards' Quds Force Qasem Soleimani.

The bulletin details the attack and potential Iranian threat, including previous plots against US infrastructure and cyber targets.

'Big Sis' Homeland Security Chief Discusses Future of Bureaucratic Behemoth

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told a Senate panel today that the threat from violent Islamic extremists is openly discussed "every day" within the administration and considered "part and parcel" of both the Ft. Hood shooting and attempted Christmas Day bombing last year.

Napolitano defended her leadership of the department tasked with keeping Americans safe and asked lawmakers for "the right resources" to improve some of the challenges it faced in her first year.
