Vice President Mike Pence is reportedly self-isolating after his press secretary tested positive for coronavirus.

Bloomberg reported that Pence didn’t attend a meeting Saturday with President Donald Trump after his press secretary, Katie Miller, tested positive for coronavirus.

Sources said Pence tested negative for the virus Sunday but is staying home as a precaution.

The diagnosis of Miller, who is married to White House immigration adviser and speech writer Stephen Miller, was revealed by Trump in a meeting with Republican lawmakers on Friday.

Vice President Mike Pence made an unannounced visit to Iraq on Saturday in the highest-level American trip since President Donald Trump ordered a pullback of U.S. forces in Syria two months ago.

Flying in a C-17 military cargo jet to preserve the secrecy of the visit to the conflict zone, Pence landed in Erbil to meet with Iraqi Kurdistan President Nechirvan Barzani. White House aides believed Mike Pence would support using the 25th Amendment to remove Donald Trump, a new book has claimed.

The bombshell claim - immediately denied by the Vice President's camp - has emerged in a book by an anonymous Trump official entitled 'The Warning'.

The official is the same one who wrote a New York Times op-ed in 2018 claiming to be 'part of the resistance' inside the Trump White House.

In the book, the author claims that White House staff made a 'back-of-the-envelope tally' in 2017 of who would be willing to plot against Trump.

But the book is claiming that some White House aides believed that he would. There are a lot of people working in the White House, so unless the author behind this claim start naming names, I will treat this as fake news.

MUNICH — U.S. Vice President Mike Pence strongly criticized European allies Saturday for their stance on Iran and Venezuela, in a speech at the Munich Security Conference in Germany.

"The time has come for our European partners to stop undermining U.S. sanctions against this murderous, revolutionary regime. The time has come for our European partners to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal," Pence told delegates.

He also called on allies to recognize opposition leader Juan Guaido as the legitimate president of Venezuela. More than 20 European states have done so, but the European Union has stopped short of fully recognizing Guaido as president. Disputed president Nicholas Maduro is widely accused of vote-rigging to win last years' election, while the country is mired in poverty and hyperinflation.

Vice President Pence declared Wednesday that "ISIS has been defeated," hours after the terrorist group claimed responsibility for an attack in Syria that killed U.S. troops.

"Thanks to the leadership of this commander in chief and the courage and sacrifice of our armed forces, we’re now actually able to begin to hand off the fight against ISIS in Syria to our coalition partners, and we are bringing out troops home," Pence said at a State Department event in Washington, D.C.

"The caliphate has crumbled and ISIS has been defeated," he added in remarks at the Global Chiefs of Mission Conference, prompting applause in the room.

WNU Editor: Unlike President Trump who has good instincts and timing, Vice President Pence clearly does not (which makes me wonder how did he ever succeed in politics). * The vice president flew through the South China Sea Tuesday, reportedly to send a message to the Chinese.
* He described his flyby as something of a "freedom-of-navigation" operation, The Washington Post reported.
* Speaking earlier in Tokyo, he stressed that "authoritarianism and aggression have no place in the Indo-Pacific."

Vice President Mike Pence is traveling through Asia with a message for China, and that is that the US "will not be intimidated."

Flying from Japan to Singapore Tuesday, the vice president's Air Force 2 airplane reportedly passed within 50 miles of Chinese outposts in the contested Spratly Islands. Speaking with The Washington Post's Josh Rogin, Pence characterized the flight as something of a "freedom-of-navigation" operation.

As Pence's aircraft was actually a good distance from the islands, his flyby in the South China Sea obviously did not serve as an official FONOP or even as a particularly-demonstrative overflight, like the flights occasionally conducted by US Air Force bombers.

U.S. Vice President Mike Pence encountered resistance from Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos Sunday over President Donald Trump's threat to use military action in Venezuela.

Speaking at a joint news conference with Santos in Cartagena, Pence did not rule out using military force, but he did not directly talk about it either.

Pence, however, told the Colombian president that the US would much prefer what he called a "peaceable" solution for Venezuela.

WNU editor: US Vice President Pence believes that peace is possible in Venezuela, but I have no reason to believe that the Venezuelan government is going to change tactics and look for a political compromise with its opponents. On the contrary .... I see them imprisoning everyone. As for a U.S. military intervention .... the Pentagon probably has plans for such an operation .... but there is no political support anywhere for such an intervention, and if it should be employ, it would only happen if the crisis in Venezuela becomes a full-blown humanitarian crisis that results in the migration of millions of its citizens (which unfortunately is starting right now).

Washington Post: Pence tells North Korea not to test American resolve, offering Syria and Afghanistan strikes as examples

TOKYO — Vice President Pence warned North Korea Monday that it could be in for the same treatment as Syria and Afghanistan — both of which the Trump administration has bombed this month — if it continues with its nuclear program.

The stark warning, delivered in Seoul after the vice president went to the military demarcation that separates the two Koreas, could revive speculation that the White House is considering military action against the regime in Pyongyang.

Pence said that the Trump administration wanted to convince North Korea to abandon its nuclear weapons “through peaceful means” but repeated the administration’s warning that “all options are on the table.”

Washington Post: In Brussels, Pence says he ‘fully supported’ ouster of Mike Flynn

BRUSSELS — Vice President Pence said Monday that he “fully supported” Michael Flynn’s ouster last week as national security adviser, setting himself firmly against the former general, who told untruths about his contacts with Russian officials.

“I was disappointed to learn that the facts that have been conveyed to me by Gen. Flynn were inaccurate,” Pence told reporters during a visit to NATO headquarters in his first public comments about a scandal that has rocked the young Trump administration.

Pence pushed for Flynn’s ouster after learning from The Washington Post that the national security adviser had been captured on tape speaking to Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Sergei Kislyak on the topic of sanctions. The conversation happened the day the Obama administration announced measures against Russia to retaliate for what U.S. intelligence services say was the Kremlin’s efforts to influence November’s presidential election. Flynn told Pence that he had not spoken about sanctions with Kislyak, an assertion Pence went on to repeat on television.
