PJ Media: Blackwater-Style Firm for Jihadists Opens Training Camp with Donor Help

The first known private military contracting and consulting firm catering just to jihadists issued a new online fundraising appeal for help in arming fighters while also noting this week that donors came through to build a training camp for jihadists in Syria.

"We have finished our project about the building new training camp for brothers and I am so glad. And we are going to start the new lessons after a few days, inshallah, special courses for shooters of PKM and RPG," Malhama Tactical leader Abu Salman Belarus said in an English-language video posted to his Twitter account Wednesday, thanking those who "supported our project."

A powerful group of Islamist fighters in Syria have released a professionally made video showing the training programme their fighters are going through at a 'Black War Training Camp.'

The Youtube video includes fighters abseiling down rock faces, descending on zip wires, and masked men clearing buildings in the style of Western-trained special forces.

The video, initially released by Arabic speakers, suggests that the rebels are receiving training from an established military power – probably Saudi Arabia – and have built what they call a 'Black War Training Camp.'

My Comment: I posted this story a day or two ago .... and it still disturbs me. I know that these people are sick .... but what is really disturbing is the silence from the Egyptian government, silence from the Egyptian President, and the realization that this Islamist leader enjoys a great deal of support in the Islamic world.

An Egyptian jihad leader, with self-professed links to the Taliban, called for the “destruction of the Sphinx and the Giza Pyramids in Egypt,” drawing ties between the Egyptian relics and Buddha statues, local media reported this week.

Murgan Salem al-Gohary, an Islamist leader twice-sentenced under former President Hosni Mubarak for advocating violence, called on Muslims to remove such “idols.”

“All Muslims are charged with applying the teachings of Islam to remove such idols, as we did in Afghanistan when we destroyed the Buddha statues,” he said on Saturday during a television interview on an Egyptian private channel, widely watched by Egyptian and Arab audiences.

When ArmyLt. Col. Matthew Dooley last year began teaching a class to fellow officers on the dangers of radical Islam, he seemed to have landed in a perfect spot.

A highly rated armor officer who saw combat in Iraq, Col. Dooley planned to instruct for several years at the Joint Forces Staff College within the National Defense University, then seek command of a combat battalion — a ticket to better postings and higher rank.

FBI Tracking 100 Suspected Extremists In Military -- NPR

The FBI has conducted more than 100 investigations into suspected Islamic extremists within the military, NPR has learned. About a dozen of those cases are considered serious.

Officials define that as a case requiring a formal investigation to gather information against suspects who appear to have demonstrated a strong intent to attack military targets. This is the first time the figures have been publicly disclosed.

The FBI and Department of Defense call these cases "insider threats." They include not just active and reserve military personnel but also individuals who have access to military facilities such as contractors and close family members with dependent ID cards.

London, England (CNN) -- A hit list of British lawmakers who voted for the Iraq war with instructions for meeting them in person was taken down from a website Friday after the British Home Office expressed concern, the office said.

The list, posted Thursday on the U.S.-hosted blog RevolutionMuslim.com, contained a link for buying a knife online and said Muslims should be inspired to "raise the knife of jihad," or holy war, against those who voted for action in Iraq.

A spokesman for the Home Office said Britain encouraged its U.S. counterparts to remove the content from the Internet.

My Comment: Some have been advocating that this American should be put on a CIA hit list .... a proposal that I must confess I find very uncomfortable to support. Two new documents laying out the Obama administration's defense and homeland security strategy over the next four years describe the nation's terrorist enemies in a number of ways but fail to mention the words Islam, Islamic or Islamist.

The 108-page Quadrennial Homeland Security Review, made public last week by the Department of Homeland Security, uses the term "terrorist" a total of 66 times, "al Qaeda" five times and "violent extremism" or "extremist" 14 times. It calls on the U.S. government to "actively engage communities across the United States" to "stop the spread of violent extremism."

My Comment: Like all extremists groups .... Nazis, Pol Pot Communists, KKK, the IRA, etc.... there will always be a subgroup that is even more extremist. We are now seeing it in the Islamic/Jihadist movement. While they are only a few in number, their radicalism makes them very very dangerous. How they become neutralized is probably the priority for most security and military organizations in the world today.

NAIROBI, Kenya — Three Kenyan men who briefly fought for al Shabaab, the Somali insurgent group that claims ties to al Qaida , said that they were driven by the promise of money, not jihad.

"They promised me $300 a month," said Ali Abdi Ahmed , a 38-year-old with sunken cheeks who was recruited from the Kenyan town of Garissa early last year. At the time, he'd lacked steady work for several months, so he took the advice of a town elder and went to help fight Ethiopian forces in Somalia .

With its porous border and large ethnic Somali population, Kenya has become a major conduit for money, weapons and fighters for the Somali insurgency, and a place where injured fighters sometimes come to receive medical treatment.
