Bin Laden Widows And Children Prepare For New Life In Saudi Arabia -- The Telegraph

The 14 members of Osama bin Laden's family who survived the US Navy Seal raid which killed him in May last year were on Friday preparing to live incognito - but probably in some luxury - in Saudi Arabia after being deported from Pakistan.

They included three of his widowed wives, ten children and one grandchild. One of his wives, Amal Ahmed al-Sadah, was deported to Saudi Arabia despite being a Yemeni, at the insistence of Yemen officials and members of her family who feared she might become a focal point for bin Laden's followers or alternatively targeted by al-Qaeda militants.

Bin Laden Widows Deported From Pakistan -- L.A. Times

The three widows of Osama bin Laden and their children have left for the Islamabad airport to be deported to Saudi Arabia, the Associated Press reported Thursday.

The Pakistani government said the family left for the “country of their choice, Saudi Arabia,” according to the wire service.

This month, the widows were sentenced to 45 days in jail each for illegally entering and living in Pakistan. The women were questioned by intelligence officials asking how Bin Laden was able to elude capture for so many years, even while living in a Pakistani garrison town.

Osama bin Laden Family Deportation Delayed -- The Telegraph

The expected deportation of Osama bin Laden's family from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia has been delayed because their passports are not ready, according to their lawyer.

The 12-member family, including bin Laden's three widows, eight children and one grandchild, had originally been due to leave overnight. Two of the wives are Saudi nationals and the third is from Yemen.

The 9/11 mastermind's family were detained by Pakistani authorities after bin Laden was killed in a US special forces operation in the garrison town of Abbottabad, north of Islamabad, last May.

Pakistan To Deport Osama Bin Laden’s Family On Wednesday -- The Telegraph

Pakistan will deport the 14 members of Osama bin Laden’s family to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday as it seeks to avoid further embarrassing revelations about the al-Qaeda chief’s life in the country.

Upon arrival in the kingdom, where they face no charges, the three widows and 11 children will live incognito with the bin Laden family, said the family’s lawyer, Aamir Khalil.

Their release comes ahead of the first anniversary on May 2 of the killing of bin Laden by US Navy SEALS in the garrison town of Abbottabad, just 30 miles northeast of the capital Islamabad.

Bin Laden's Widows To Be Deported From Pakistan -- CNN

Islamabad, Pakistan (CNN) -- Pakistan will deport the widows and children of terrorism mastermind Osama bin Laden to Saudi Arabia next week, their attorney said Friday.

Earlier this month, a Pakistani court sentenced the three widows -- two Saudis and a Yemeni -- and two of bin Laden's daughters to 45 days of house arrest for living illegally in the South Asian nation.

The court ordered that they be deported after their term, which began March 3 when they were formally arrested, was served, said lawyer Aamir Khalil.

My Comment: Why release the video now? I suspect that Pakistan is preparing to deport these widows and their children, and are now waiting for the opportune time to do it.

Osama Bin Laden told his children to live peacefully in the West where they would get a good education, his brother-in-law has revealed.

Zakaria al-Sadah, whose sister is the fifth wife of the Al-Qaeda leader, said Bin Laden did not want his children and grandchildren following in the same path of terrorism like him.

'He told his own children and grandchildren, go to Europe and America and get a good education,' according to an interview with Sadah in The Sunday Times.

Osama bin Laden made his will on December 14 2001 while US B-52s pulverized al-Qaeda’s Tora Bora cave complex. He urged the five wives accompanying him on “the road full of thorns and mines” not to remarry and to look after his 22 children.

As for counselling the latter, he did not recommend al-Qaeda as a future career. He wrote: “Forgive me because I have given you only a little of my time since I answered the jihad call. I have shouldered the Muslims’ concerns and their hardships, embitterment, betrayal and treachery.” This was typical Osama-speak: grandiose, plangent and self-romanticising.

Eleven years ago, a teenage girl was plucked from a quiet town in southern Yemen and taken first to Pakistan and then on to Kandahar in southern Afghanistan.

Her name was Amal al-Sadah, and a year before the 9/11 attacks she became Osama bin Laden's fifth wife. She was 18; he was 43.

By his own account, an al Qaeda figure in Yemen called Sheikh Rashed Mohammed Saeed Ismail arranged the marriage.

Ismail (whose brother spent time as a detainee at Guantanamo Bay) told the Yemen Post in 2008: "I was the matchmaker for his wife Amal al-Sadah, who was one of my students."

This is the first picture of Osama Bin Laden's Yemeni wife who rushed Navy SEAL troops in a desperate bid to shield her fugitive husband.

Amal Al Sadah, 27 was shot in the leg as U.S. forces stormed the compound in Pakistan, but had to be left behind after one of the evacuation helicopters crash landed.

She was captured by Pakistani forces. Today she was trapped in an international custody battle, with Pakistan and America locked in a diplomatic standoff over her fate as the two countries traded slurs over whether the Islamic state sheltered Bin Laden for a decade.

He drives into the desert, finds an isolated spot, then has his oldest sons dig ditches in the sand, long enough to fit each person. It's the early 1990s, and bin Laden believes there's a war coming between Muslims and the Western infidels. This is training.

Iran in Secret Talks With al Qaeda, U.S. Officials Say

Sources Say Iranian Govt., Terror Group in Contact About Militants Under House Arrest

Senior U.S. officials tell ABC News that in recent months there have been secret contacts between the Iranian government and the leadership of al Qaeda. It's a development that has caught the attention of top officials in the White House, the Pentagon and the intelligence community.

According to U.S. officials familiar with highly sensitive intelligence on this issue, the contacts are on the status of high-level al Qaeda operatives, including two of Osama Bin Laden's sons, who have been under house arrest in Iran since 2003. The officials don't believe Iran will allow these operatives to go free, but said they don't know Iran's motivation for initiating the talks.

My Comment: This is another clear indication that close ties are maintained between Al Qaeda and Iranian Government officials. Because this involves two of Osama bin Ladin's sons, it is not hard to figure out who in Al Qaeda is directing these talks. The question is why Iran is doing this now. What is their strategy? This is an answer that I do not know.
