The past seven days have provided absolutely thrilling videos of some incredible and even downright dangerous flying.

The last seven days have provided a plethora of awesome aviation related videos. Sometimes doing an entire post on a single video makes sense, but doing that daily doesn't. So I have condensed the best of the best here for your viewing pleasure in a new segment I call Cinema Aero.

First up, we have had some awesome, and I mean AWESOME video coming out of Australia showing RAAF aircraft rehearsing for the Riverfire celebration in Brisbane. You may remember this event as it featured probably the best 'dump and burns' by F-111s in the history of the maneuver. You can see what I am talking about in this old piece of mine. Since the F-111's retirement, other RAAF have stepped in to keep the flyover tradition alive—and these aren't just any sleepy aerial displays. In true RAAF fashion, the jets get down low and very fast.

The Royal Australian Air Force is well known for its spectacular low-level flyovers.

Australia has a long history of executing some of the most spectacular flyovers anywhere in the world. Some even occur during regular training. For decades, F-111 "Pigs" were the centerpiece of the RAAF's aerial displays, with the aircraft's ability to "dump and burn" being the ultimate air show and flyover crowd pleaser. Since the F-111's retirement, Australia's other combat aircraft have taken on more aerial display missions, with the jet that replaced the F-111, the F/A-18F Super Hornet, becoming the most visible in this role. But even the country's nimble little Hawk Mk127 trainer can put on a lively flyover.

Just left-click on the mouse and move left, right, up or down, just like on Google Maps’ panoramic views. The technology gives the viewer the feeling of actually being inside the cockpit. As 360° view technology becomes ever more commonplace, it’s now coming to aerial videography.

There’s live video of a Coast Guard rescue at sea during Hurricane Sandy, a public service announcement on homeless veterans, and of course, a ‘Gangnam Style’ spoof music video in contention, but what were the top 10 most watched U.S. military videos of 2012?

This year’s winner, published in February, garnered almost 2.4 million views. In comparison, the most watched video from Stars and Stripes in 2012—‘Heat ray demonstration’—received about 57,500 views, good enough for 11th place if in the competition.

My Comment: The most popular military video (it is a military tribute video) is this one with over 31,000,000 visits .... the music is "Pacific Wind" by Ryan Farish .... and it is haunting .... this is also my favorite military tribute video (by far).
