Does John Brennan Know Too Much for Obama to Fire Him? -- Conor Friedersdorf, The Atlantic
It's difficult to cross man with details on every secret drone strike you've authorized—especially the legally dubious ones.
When John Brennan assured the country that the CIA hadn't improperly monitored the Senate team that compiled a report on Bush-era torture, he fed us false information. My Comment: The White House's drone assassination program is probably only the tip of the iceberg on what John Brennan knows. But the reasons why President Obama will not fire CIA Director John Brennan are rather straight forward .... he trusts him, he knows that he is loyal, and he has been following President Obama's instructions to the letter. Knowing too much is not a negative in this White House.

Both Bush and Obama cannot both be right. By faithfully serving them both Brennan has indicted himself, if not in a court of law, then in the eyes of the people.
Something like the J. Edgar Hoover defense?
Did Edgar Hoover serve every American president to the letter except for the dirt he dug up?
Would America have been better off with other capable directors?
Generals have been fired for playing grab-ass in Moscow or gambling addiction that led them to fraud. They should have been and were fired. What about presidents, congressional representatives and senators? Being as crooked as many of them are makes it easy for a CIA, FBI or NSA director to blackmail them.
