Chairman of the US joint chiefs of staff General Mark Milley told lawmakers late last night: 'The Russians have not made any progress whatsoever in and around Bakhmut.
'It's a slaughter-fest for the Russians. They're getting hammered in the vicinity of Bakhmut and the Ukrainians have fought very very well.'

Miley can't be trusted. Telling the world that Ukraine is losing risks further US and NATO aid. I see no negotiated settlement so this war continues until one side is totally destroyed as a conventional army, ie no remaining fighting power. Either way the world is in for years of dangerous consequences. Thank you Democrats and our idiot Joe Biden and his national security team.

I do know one thing. The first hand reports I have seen come from Ukrainian forces in the field have been ugly. Guys with tears in thier eyes talking about most of their units being wiped out. The kids and young girls being shipped to the front . The constant complaints of ammo shortages, not just from The troops but from Zelinski.
So the Ukrainian side does not look like it is winning anything at this point.

The best thing I saw was the BBC report, where they got thier information from funeral reports and family grieving posts off the internet.
But other than that, all things being equal... it is common sense that if you throw 1 shell at me and I shoot 20 in return, you are going to suffer more than I am.
