Reuters: Russia Extends Conscription for Compulsory Military Service up to Age 30
(Reuters) -Russia's lower house of parliament voted on Tuesday to raise the maximum age at which men can be conscripted to 30 years from 27, increasing the number of young men liable for a year of compulsory military service at any one time.
Last year, Russia announced a plan to boost its professional and conscripted combat personnel by more than 30% to 1.5 million, an ambitious task made harder by its heavy but undisclosed casualties in Ukraine.
The new legislation, which comes into effect on Jan. 1, means men will be required to carry out a year of military service, or equivalent training during higher education, between the ages of 18 and 30, rather than 18 and 27 as now.

WNU Editor: This tells me that the Kremlin is expecting the Russia - Ukraine war to continue for a long time. I originally thought that the war would end around 2023 - 2024. I am now not too sure about that.

I remember going through infantry OSUT with a 45 yr old. Russia has a lot of man power to tap into over the next few years.
...has a lot of manpower to tap into...and the man who will do the tapping.
30 is young
There is probably something like almost 200,000 Russian dead at this point. If it goes past 2024, Russia will likely have 400,000+ dead. The Kremlin needs a lot of meat to hold the lines.
As long as Russia is fighting, Putin likely assumes the Russian soldiers will remain loyal out of a sense of patriotism. Once the war ends, all those veterans will be steaming mad at how Putin has allowed them to be butchered. They will want changes.
Although WNU Editor never shows Russian intercepted transmissions, people who get their news from other sources know the extreme anger many Russian soldiers have for Shoigu and Putin. Once able to return to domestic life, they will be heavily motivated to remove Putin from power. The longer the war goes on, the greater the pressure that builds. But while the war goes on, they will keep following orders. The logic concludes that Putin must keep the war going on to delay the inevitable.
Whether or not this situation turns out well for the West is debatable. But Putin clearly fears being hanged by his boots like Mussolini, and is willing to perpetuate the war and kill thousands of Russians simply to keep himself in power.

You are an idiot.
where did you get this piece of info, a bubble gum machine?
If there are that many angry men out there, why did NONE of them join the Wagner coup?
