Russia to Stage Nationwide Nuclear Simulation Featuring Western Nations as Aggressors
The country is set to stage its first nationwide attack exercise across all 11 of its time zones, Knewz.com has learned.
The one-day exercise is scheduled for Tuesday, October 3, and will be enacted as if the West is the enemy attacking the country, United Kingdom outlet Metro reports.
This is the first time Russia will have done a nationwide nuclear exercise. Previously, the country had only done such exercises region by region.
In the exercise, Russia will implement a simulated martial law. Putin reportedly has bunkers in his palaces in case a nuclear war erupts.

In the scenario, Russia is preparing for "accidents at hydraulic structures, chemically and radiation hazardous facilities" with "secondary hazards" following the carnage.
"In some constituent entities [regions] of the Russian Federation, as a result of emergencies or other types of physical impact, complete destruction of life support facilities and up to 70 percent of the housing stock is possible," Russia's test scenario reads, according to Metro.
Civil servants and regional officials will be tasked with organizing "non-staff emergency rescue teams" to ensure there are proper food and medical supplies, and prepare radiation-protection measures.
