Israel Strikes Gaza Tunnels After Rocket Attack -- Voice of America

Hamas promised Saturday to avenge the death of one of its senior commanders, who was killed during a series of Israeli air strikes on Gaza Friday.

The Israeli army says warplanes have launched an attack on two tunnels used by smugglers in the southern Gaza Strip in response to a rocket attack.

The military said Sunday two Israel Air Force jets struck two Gaza targets just hours after a Qassam rocket hit a building in the Israeli border town of Sderot, a frequent target of rockets fired from Gaza.

Militants said the Israeli air strike caused damage, but no casualties.
