Syrian Military Planted In, Near Flashpoints Amid Fears Of Clashes -- CNN

The Syrian military on Friday maintained a strong presence in and around two restive cities where protests have raged for weeks, according to a witness and an activist.

The show of force in the western city of Banias and the southern town of Daraa comes amid fears of more clashes between security forces and protesters after weekly Muslim prayers on Friday.
