President Barack Obama, moving to defuse a battle with Congress, directed the Justice Department on Wednesday to share secret memos laying out the legal justification for targeted drone-strike assassinations overseas with key committees, an aide said.
Obama’s decision came as his pick to head the CIA, White House counter-terrorism adviser John Brennan, faced a grilling on the issue on Thursday at a confirmation hearing before the Senate Intelligence Committee.

My Comment: He had no choice .... the memos were already leaked to the New York Times and Washington Post. He is also doing this to defuse potentially embarrassing questions tomorrow when CIA Director nominee John Brennan goes to the Senate for his confirmation hearing.
