Good link. There are significant differences between these tunnels and the Cu Chi's. Both are designed and used as cover and concealment from primarily air and are used as fighting positions. But the Vietnamese never really put a lot of heavy weapons or war material in them. If needed they'd leave and not lose much. A closer analogy I think would be the Japanese at Iwo.
