Apocalypse Ignored: As Gaza Grabs The Headlines, Epic Slaughter Engulfs The Rest Of The Region. But Where Are The Protests?
The fragile ceasefire in Gaza was still holding last night after three days, offering a glimmer of hope that the brutal conflict between Israel and the militant group Hamas might be at an end.
Israel believes it has killed more than 700 Hamas fighters in the past four weeks and destroyed at least 32 of the underground passages through which Hamas smuggles weaponry and launches terrorist attacks on the country.
In their cold-blooded parlance, Israel’s military leaders say they have ‘mown the grass’ sufficiently to enable a withdrawal of troops from Gaza. In other words, they have degraded Hamas’s military capacity to the extent that they believe it will take three or four years before the terrorist organisation can become truly belligerent again; before the gruesome cycle of Hamas provocation and ruthless Israeli retaliation begins once more.

My Comment: Other countries that are not mentioned in this article but are in turmoil are Yemen, Egypt, and Tunisia.

If one were a pragmatist, or one were of the Kissenger school, one could possibly believe that maybe, just maybe, the United States is pursuing a policy of containment of these forces in the region.
One could let them fight it out, a winner could emerge, and then it would be a good time to bomb the ever-loving crap out of them after their forces were concentrated in an area that made them vulnerable.
Say, after these radicals established their own "Caliphate".
What would remain would be more moderate after the civilians in the region got a taste of just how things would be under their boot.
Of course, that's just the pragmatist in me. I don't think our administration is that subtle.
THEY ONLY STAND UP AGAINST ISRAEL! Protest across the world with antisemitism, when radical islam is obviously the violent group of monsters who kill even their own who refuse to agree with them! The common sense of the world has seemed to have dissipated and when islam FINALLY rears its UGLY head in the USA My blog will say HAMAS"S buddies are here to give you what you asked for! Watchmen, I'm pretty much thinking the same thing. Radical Islam is an "over there" issue and really has nothing to do with the U.S. and our daily afairs. I'm afraid it will take another 9/11ish incident before the American populace realizes how much this is an "over here" issue and how dangerous these people really are. Easy to blame the ancient scapegoat (Israel), for beating up the poor helpless Gazans when mortars aren't raining down indescriminately in America.
All three of you guys are right, and they are coming.
