Washington Times: Taliban not a terrorist group, White House deputy press secretary says
WNU Editor: I am definitely looking forward to the White House's explanation/rational/clarification on this revelation that the Taliban is not a terrorist group today.

Is the Taliban a terrorist group? I have never believed so. granted they are a brutal force, within afghan society and proved to be very inept at governing. Over time it seemed to to me that they simply rose to fight an invader and in the process a lot of people gave them the terrorist tag. Perhaps their method of fighting sowed terror, certainly their method of governing and forcing their extremist religion on Afghans sowed terror but terrorist of the international sort they are not. That they could become so is possible if provoked enough.
The US would have us believe that they were fighting solely the Taliban but this clip of an interview with Matthew Hoh is informative. I can see the WH backtracking on the Taliban terrorist tag because they can see that eventually the Taliban will rule and with the oil/gas and rare earth elements in the pot there is possible future business with the Afghans.
