WNU Editor: To say that I am ready to explode with my own opinions and analysis on the Orlando Massacre is an understatement. And while I have learned in the past that it is best to refrain one's comments until all the investigations have been completed and the final report is made .... in this case there is a lot of information, and it is quite a sight to see how everyone is responding. So to begin .... I am just going to list a bunch of news links with a brief comment or two.

1) The father of Omar Mateen is truly a piece of work. A Taliban supporter who tries to rationalise what his son did .... What has the Orlando gunman's father said? (CBS). More here .... Shooter Omar Mateen’s father says he’s saddened by massacre, calls gunman ‘a good son’ (Washington Post). More here .... Orlando gunman’s father condemns atrocity but says 'punishment' for gay people is up to God (The Guardian).

2) There is a Saudi connection .... Orlando shooter reportedly traveled to Saudi Arabia twice for a religious pilgrimage (Business Insider).

3) The police and Omar Mateen were in negotiations before the decision was made to storm the club .... Orlando Gunman Omar Mateen 'Cool and Calm' During Negotiations (NBC).

4) Even though during the attack Omar Mateen had called 9/11 to pledge alliance to the Islamic State .... Omar Mateen pledged allegiance to ISIS, had been investigated by FBI (CNN) .... saying the same thing when he talked to police negotiators. And with the Islamic State claiming responsibility for the attack .... Islamic State claims responsibility for Orlando nightclub shooting (Reuters) .... U.S. officials are still saying that there is no direct link to the Islamic State .... Omar Mateen pledged allegiance to ISIS, had been investigated by FBI (Reuters).

5) Walt Disney was apparently on his list of targets .... Orlando Nightclub Gunman Scouted Walt Disney World as Potential Target: Source (People)

6) The FBI removed Omar Mateen from the terror watch-list (after two investigations) .... Omar Mateen was taken off a terrorist watch list, but keeping him on it wouldn't have stopped him from buying guns (L.A. Times). That is why he could then buy his guns.

7) An interesting contrast on how the media is covering this story. The world press (with the exception of some Middle Eastern agencies) .... are labelling this attack as ISIS inspired committed by a radical Islamist .... the U.S. and Canadian press .... its all about guns and hate or the fault of the NRA .... NRA’s fight to stop assault weapons ban enables killers behind shootings at Orlando nightclub, Newtown, and San Bernardino to use AR-15 rifle (New York Daily News)

8) President Obama's take on the massacre .... Obama says 'no sign' of Orlando gunman being part of a wider plot as he blames 'home-grown extremism' and guns and focuses on anti-gay violence – but STILL won't say 'radical Islamic terrorism' (Daily Mail). More here .... Obama: Orlando shooting was a case of ‘homegrown extremism,’ gunman inspired by online propaganda (Washington Post).

9) No kidding (but only in the U.S.) .... Orlando shooting revives a fight over 'Islamic' label (AP)

10) Hillary Clinton's take .... Hillary Clinton Says She Won’t ‘Declare War’ on Islam After Orlando Shooting (Time). Her focus will be on this .... Clinton renews call for gun control in wake of Orlando attack (The Hill).

11) Donald Trump continues to push his ban on Muslim immigration, but his comments today is driving the main stream media mad .... Trump: Obama’s 'unacceptable' reaction to Orlando attack may be because he has 'something else in mind' (Business Insider). More here .... Donald Trump attacks President Obama's response to Orlando attack (CBS).

12) This is disturbing .... Orlando gunman tied to radical imam released from prison last year, say law enforcement sources (FOX News). More here .... Orlando terrorist connected to radical Muslim cleric who was released from prison last year after he converted 36 people in jail and 'runs a website used to dispense his teachings' (Daily Mail). Omar Mateen's current Iman admits that he was "aggressive" .... Omar Mateen's imam says he was known at the mosque for being aggressive (The Telegraph) .... then says something else .... Gunman's Imam: 'He Was Very Quiet' (Virginia Pilot).

13) Omar Mateen's former co-workers were raising red flags .... "I saw it coming." Former co-worker talks about Omar Mateen (NBC).

14) No kidding .... Ex-wife of Florida gunman Omar Mateen says he was ‘mentally unstable’ – video (The Guardian).

15) These are the people that should be remembered .... not the killer .... Orlando nightclub shooting: Who were the victims? (BBC).

There's a piece here no one is talking about. U.S. and allied support for Islamic fascism in the ME and beyond. Of course, Obama doesn't want to talk about radical Islam as the government is the CEO of continues to support and provide aid to so-called "moderate" Islamofascists in Syria. We should also not forget the continued backing of MB elements in Libya or the history of Afghanistan.

It's called blow back and the silence around it is deafening.

Let's hope we don't see more black churches burn or other attacks due to the sanitizing of white supremacy and Nazism in the Ukraine; not to mention the Baltic states.
