Bangladesh Hostage Crisis Ends, All Attackers Have Been Killed

NBC News: Bangladesh Hostage Standoff Ends, All Attackers Dead: Police

Bangladeshi security forces on Saturday stormed a restaurant where gunmen took what was feared to be dozens of hostages the night before. Police said all the attackers were killed in the raid.

Local media reported that gunfire and explosions were heard at around 7:40 a.m. local time (9:40 p.m. Friday ET) in the diplomatic district of the nation's capital of Dhaka, where the attack on the Holey Artisan Bakery occurred Friday night.

Police near the scene confirmed to NBC News Saturday morning the operation was over. The police Rapid Action Battalion told reporters all the attackers have been killed.
