Long War Journal: Soleimani’s presence in Aleppo underscores strategy of crushing rebels

Photos have emerged claiming that Major General Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) elite foreign operations unit, the Qods Force, is in Aleppo, Syria. Soleimani leads Iranian strategy in Syria in coordination with both Russia and Bashar al-Assad’s government. He commands the IRGC-led Shiite expeditionary force there, which includes the Afghan Fatemiyoun, Pakistani Zeynabiyoun, Lebanese Hezbollah, and the Iraqi Harakat al Nujaba.

Nujaba, which is now the largest Iraqi Shiite contingency in Syria, posted on September 6 photos of Soleimani inspecting positions in southern Aleppo. WNU Editor: The fact that Major General Qassem Soleimani is in Syria tells me how high a priority the conflict in Syria is for the Iranian government. I remember last year too. Especially how your Saudi/Turk/Qatari/U.S. flunky buddies failed to cage the Tiger even when he was out of ammunition. Regardless, how about that Castello Road? Hama (Rules once more)? And now Aleppo? It's a good thing you clowns like dieing so much especially seeing how Hassan likes killing you so much.

Now you've got the Tiger by the tail. Give my regards to the virgins.

I've got a tiger by the tail
It's plain to see
I won't be much when you get through with me
Well, I'm a losing weight and a turnin' mighty pale
Looks like I've got a tiger by the tail
