@Editor - I'm not a fan of him, but I agree with his pessimistic view. Trump administration is still in its infancy, but has made little progress in cooling tensions.

Democrats and anti-russian McCarthyism is going to dominate the Trump administration for the good half, if not, rest of the year. The Trump administration will probably tip-toe around the issue - any outreach attempts by the administration may be seen as opening up a wound.
