WNU Editor: This is an incredibly important story ..... and one where a discussion and debate is sorely needed. Unfortunately .... the Democrats and the media are focused on Trump and Russia and are ignoring IMHO the important stories like this one.

The buck stops where?
I can recall when McCarthur said we needed to bomb China during the Korean War and the commander-in -Chief had him removed from command.
Assad getting help from Iran...bomb them or invade them? let some general there decide. What is the point of the Pentagon? Does a field commander get to decide?

Exactly, why have generals, admirals and indeed a pentagon if wars are to be run by a civillian committee.
