Typical boilerplate language by Beijing. I would suggest now is not the time to discuss the One China policy as we have enough intractable issues being negotiated.

However relations will never return to what they were pre-Trump. Dems can't afford to lose all the states they've lost due to their terrible trade policies. GOP can't afford to lose them either due to the Bushy's terrible trade policies. So Trump has clarified that. Plus the US is now an energy superpower with cheap energy to support a much larger manufacturing base.

Where the US can help Taiwan is with access to technology, dual equipment sales, subterfuges on gaining high tech weapons. Taiwan is a vital place and the US needs to vastly improve their defenses. Watch what China is doing in Venezuela and do pretty much the same with Taiwan.
