Former Russian Prime Minister Medvedev Hints That Chaos Will Be Russia's Future

Julia Davis, Daily Beast: Did Russian Prime Minister Medvedev Drop a Grim Hint About Putin’s Latest Power Grab?

Reading from Chekhov’s “A Night in the Cemetery” on national television Tuesday, Dmitry Medvedev foreshadowed the upheaval to come with his government's resignation on Wednesday.

At a celebration of the Russian Orthodox New Year on Tuesday, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev chose a grim message, the sarcasm of which left his audience on edge. But, then, Medvedev probably knew what Wednesday would bring—the resignation of his entire government—and the audience did not.

On national television, the prime minister read at length from Anton Chekhov’s story "A Night in the Cemetery," which suggests with ironic wit that celebrating the coming of the New Year is a foolish pursuit, unworthy of a properly functioning mind, since “every coming year is as bad as the previous one,” and the newest year is bound to be even worse. Instead of celebrating the New Year, Chekhov wrote—and Medvedev read—one should suffer, cry and attempt suicide. Every new year brings you closer to death, makes you poorer, your bald spots larger and your wife older, he said.

Medvedev’s sour greetings brought on some awkward laughs and sparse applause from confused Russian bureaucrats in the studio audience, most of whom remained stone-faced. The prime minister seemed nervous and almost dropped his papers at the end of the speech.

WNU Editor: I am speculating now, but I think it was only the day before he was fired that Russian Prime Minister Medvedev and his cabinet learned that they were going to be gone the next day. As to when did Putin make the decision to fire his Prime Minister and the cabinet .... it had to be between Russian Christmas and Russian Orthodox New Year (January 7 - 14). Everyone was distracted with enjoying the holidays, a perfect time for Putin to plot and implement his agenda without anyone noticing and/or leaking it.

In Washington DC they pass bad legislation in the week before Christmas because it won;lt get much traction in the media

Like Obamacare.

I adore Trump care!

My healthcare coverage got worse under Obamacare. It was working before.

I have been hearing about healthcare since 1993 when the boozing, #Me too, raper Senator Ted Kennedy (D) was blustering about it.

Things never tried were competition across state lines.

But the Democrats are smarter. Freed college, free healthcare, free drivers licenses for all illegals.

They have their priorities.

they never promised you a rose garden filled with deficit like never before and health care they never gave you and infrastructure they also never delivered on: that was Trump, the big mouth who gave shit

Iran Mullahs on the ropes. Soon to be TKO'd

Win!

Iran is so piss poorly run that they can't irrigate their crops or provide potable water for their people. Instead they build IEDs, missiles, and nukes.

Israel offered to help them with water management and they refused. They rather starve

A dinner with Jared and Ivanka about cannabis, a phone call from Trump Hotel with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, and a whole lot of theorizing about George Soros. Lev Parnas’ interactions with Trumpworld, in his words, went way beyond the Ukraine influence effort.

The former ally of Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani spent more than a year embedded with some of the president’s close outside allies. In that time, he said he had an inside view of all sorts of eyebrow-raising interactions and conversations. He described several of them in an interview with The Daily Beast from his lawyer’s office in Midtown Manhattan.

Federal law enforcement officials arrested Parnas and his associate Igor Fruman on Oct. 9 at Dulles Airport. They were then charged with a number of election-related crimes, and accused of funneling Russian money into American political campaigns. Both men maintain their innocence. Fruman has kept quiet throughout the process; Parnas, meanwhile, has spoken out—a lot.

Treasure trove of photos from indicted Lev Parnas reveal his extraordinary access to the Trump family, including a signed card from Melania and Donald - who still INSISTS he does not know him

The dump of images from Parnas' phone, which he turned over to House Judiciary Committee, shows the businessman with Trump's children Ivanka and Don Jr, as well as with Don Jr's kids.

Text messages reveal that Lev Parnas had extensive contact with a Devin Nunes aide about Ukraine - pulling the top Republican at the House Intelligence Committee deeper into the impeachment scandal

House Democrats released the messages in a document dump on Friday, showing Parnas texting with Derek Harvey, a top Nunes aide.

President Donald Trump lashed out at HHS Secretary Alex Azar on Thursday after senior aides presented him with polling data showing that voters prefer Democrats on health care, according to six people with knowledge of the conversation.

Trump, who phoned Azar from a meeting with his political affairs team, expressed frustration that voters haven’t rewarded him for taking actions to lower drug prices, the sources said.

Story Continued Below

Trump’s outburst sent White House staff scrambling to convene a meeting on drug pricing this morning with potentially more to come. Some predicted Trump could look to push harder on stalled drug pricing proposals, including one opposed by many in his party.

You don’t have to take Parnas’s word that he was working at the president’s behest. Last fall, when House impeachment investigators asked for documents and testimony from Parnas and his associate, Igor Fruman, they were initially represented by John Dowd, formerly one of Trump’s defense lawyers in the Mueller inquiry. Dowd, in turn, wrote to Congress that Parnas and Fruman would not cooperate with the impeachment investigation because some of the information the House sought may have been privileged. “Be advised that Messers. Parnas and Fruman assisted Mr. Giuliani in connection with his representation of President Trump,” the letter said. (Documents that Parnas later provided to the House Intelligence Committee show that Trump signed off on Dowd representing them.)

You can post Lev Parnas this and Lev Parnas that all day long. I do not give a fuck.

All it does is paint yourself.

I remember the diplomat joking something to the effect of, “we always say that the Geneva Convention is optional for our Kiev staff.

What was Masha up to?

All Lev Parnas & Masha Yovanovitch tells me is that Trump or any Republican president should upon assuming the duties of presidency fire all ambassadors appointed by a DemoFuck President.

When George W. Bush became president he requested that 30 some US attourneys resign. the

Usual bungholes of the Left were mortified and outrage.

What these liberal bungholes did not tell us is that when Bill "The Rapist" Clinton assumed the presidency hew fired all US attourneys appointed by George H.W. Bush

So we have this bastard by the name of Masha Yovanovitch, who was Demonazi Party political hack allowing Democrat big wigs to steal and then after an election undermining a Republican president.

why should she not be investigated? She is dirty.

She is every bit as dirty as Louis Lerner and you cannot depend on a dopey mother fucker like Comey to investigate a Democrat operative like Masha.
