Tell me again why we should topple Syria just to prop up another ghost puppet state.

Why? Because the Kurds can actual fight. Even thei9r women fight, they have fought under incredible odds. So have the Afghans, but only a few select units.

A soliton to ghost soldiering would be audit the unit personnel and threaten/promise to execute the commander ghost payrolling. You could threaten just to cut off their right hand.

Ghost Payrolling is theft. So cutting off a hand under Muslim law is justified. You might have the village elders or loya jirga pass judgement. Also by ghost payrolling they are putting the lives of the people in the district jeopardy. So the elders might give the honor of leading the local forces to someone who might steal less and be more competent and honest.

If the elders or Loya jirga do not give satisfaction cut off that district and let them see their part of the 20 billion in annual aid go away and see if the Taliban can make up the difference.

I think they would get the message. There would be less ghost payrolling. They would still cheat, but less so and degree makes a difference.

The US left a lot of biometric equipment and a biometric database behind. It begs the question. If they had all that data, how was ghost payrolling possible?

Personally, Sun Tzu would have chopped off at least 2 heads or two hands. That the US would not shows they were not serious.

I don't buy this. Wasn't it the Pashtuns that beat back the Brits and the Ivans? Obviously we supported the wrong bunch.
