Germany energy regulator has suspended approval for Russia's Nord Stream 2 pipeline hours after Boris Johnson told the EU it must choose between Ukraine's freedom or buying gas from Moscow.
Construction of the pipeline, which will carry Russian gas directly across the Baltic to Germany, was delayed by United States sanctions and is strongly opposed by many European countries who believe it is designed to freeze Ukraine out of transit fees for shipping Russian gas.

WNU Editor: The certification was not given because of paperwork .... German regulator, Bundesnetzagentur, said on Tuesday it had suspended the certification process because the Swiss-based consortium behind Nord Stream 2 needed to form a company under German law to secure an operating licence.

My prediction.
Natural gas prices in Europe are already at record highs. They will climb even higher if this pipeline is not certified. I doubt that politicians in Germany are going to risk that. This pipeline will be certified when the German regulator's demands are met.

Some environmentalists sued thinking they are important. It only delayed things. the environmentalists are important. They made the system looks like it works for the people gratis. They will take their bow and Mutti will take the small. fleeting puff of wind in her sails. She will also take credit for the lowering of energy prices, while avoiding her policies of not fracking, denuking and banishing coal.
