Is The White House Looking For A New Vice President?

 

FOX News: Crumbling Biden-Harris detente could signal search for new VP: 'The Five' 

The last instance of a new vice president being confirmed by Congress was Nelson Rockefeller in 1974. 

The panel on "The Five" on Tuesday discussed the possibility that the relationship between Joe Biden and Kamala Harris could get to the point that the vice president could be replaced, either in the middle of the president's term or on his presumptive reelection ticket in 2024. 

Host Dana Perino noted there is indeed a process for confirming a new vice president in the middle of a term, and it is not entirely unprecedented, though highly unusual and rare. 

Nearly a dozen presidents have gone all or some of their tenure without a vice president or have gotten a new vice president mid-term. 

 In 1974, Congress completed a confirmation process for former New York Republican Gov. Nelson Rockefeller to be President Gerald Ford's deputy following his ascension to the presidency amid Richard Nixon's resignation.

WNU Editor: Replacing Vice President Kamala Harris?!?!?!? I just do not see that happening anytime soon. 

My focus has always been on President Biden's health. And will he be healthy in a year from now. 

But if there is a complete and shocking Democrat electoral disaster in the 2022 midterms, I would then say that anything is possible.

I don't think he can nominate her for anything she would not accept prior to confirmation. The chances of her being confirmed for anything are about zero.

If Biden replaced Kamala Harris with Tulsi Gabbard in 2024, he might just win (assuming he is able to continue as President himself.)
