WNU Editor: Here is China's take on this summit .... Update: Xi-Biden’s rare long virtual meet concludes, ‘injects certainty into bilateral ties’ (Global Times).
As to what is my take. As I had predicted .... it was all scripted. President Biden literally read from a prepared script, and Chinese President Xi just responded.
After the cameras left the discussions lasted longer. But I am willing to bet that it was the senior officials in the room that did all the talking.

Mr. Biden needed a script whereas Chairman Xi did not.
It is very unfair to use the courtesy title in front of Biden's name. It derives from the French words, mon sieur, meaning "my lord". Joe is lord of nothing. His wife chaperones him and people give cards to read and schedules to keep. There are rumors he is given the privilege of choosing the flavor of ice cream he eats.
First, can we be realistic and recognize that Trump will not be restored to the White House by some kind of military act or miraculous event (other than simply running again in 2024)? Second, can we be mature enough to acknowledge our errors, learn from our mistakes, and move on? In short, can we make this a teachable moment?
Trump was not mentioned in the blogpost or comments until you did dearie.
