Russia And China Agree To Strengthen Military Ties

Daily Mail: Moscow and Beijing agree to increase military ties to 'counter US threats' after Russia accuses America of rehearsing nuclear strikes against the country 

* Russia and China have signed a pact for more military cooperation up to 2025 

* Sergei Shoigu, the country's defence minister, said the pact is necessary to ensure 'global stability' in the face of what he described as US threats 

* Shoigu pointed to recent US nuclear drills near Russia's border as an example 

 * Comes amid growing global tensions, with flashpoints in the west around Ukraine and Belarus and in the east around Taiwan and South China Sea 

Russia and China have signed a new agreement to deepen their military ties in the face of what they say is increased threats from the US. 

Sergei Shoigu, Russia's defence minister, announced the new pact - which is due to run from 2021 until 2025 - following a call with Chinese counterpart Wei Fenghe. 

Shoigu and Wei hailed recent joint drills by their nuclear bombers and warships in the South China Sea and Sea of Japan, while pledging more exercises in the future.
