RFE: U.S. Imposes Sanctions On Russian-Linked Transadria Over Nord Stream 2 Project
The United States has announced further sanctions related to the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, citing Russian-linked Transadria Ltd. and its Marlin vessel.
A November 22 statement by Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the action "is in line with the United States' continuing opposition to the Nord Stream 2 pipeline and the U.S. government's continued compliance with the Protecting Europe's Energy Security Act of 2019 (PEESA)."
"With today's action, the administration has now sanctioned eight persons and identified 17 of their vessels as blocked property pursuant to PEESA in connection with Nord Stream 2."

Now, almost 6 months later to the day, the Biden administration flip flops and at the worst possible time.
The actions of the Bite-me people are inchoate. They are like a baby, who doesn't know, if they want to eat, shit or cry.
Prices would have risen less, if Bite-me would have kept the Trump sanctions than to flip flop. It would have been an even pull.
Biden has requested another gratuitous summit with Putin. Putin will accept without question. Putin will not expect any progress or any agreements. Secretary of state Blinken might, but it will be cause he has an unreasonable expectation of success just, because he engages in process. Ron Klain will get what he wants out of the summit. He will get a bump in the polls for his cardboard cutout for a few days or week. The bonus is that, if it is done ahead of Xmas, the bump may last 10 days to 2 weeks.
Putin will accept it to gage his opponent. That is it. That is all.
Of course the US side is doing the same thing, but the US sides has much,. much more to lose in the mutual gaging contest. The US has a weaker hand; Joe Biden is an idiot.
The smartest people in the room (Obama, Ron Klain, Blinken Austin and Jake Sullivan) are allowing this skirmish/battle to take place. It is a battle. It might be in the political sphere for now, but it could bleed over into the military very easily in a big way. Hitler was as aggressive as he was and as successful as he was initially, because he gaged his opponents. He was correct right up until Poland. If people had shown more backbone, Hitler would never have gone as far as he did. The takeaway in my opinion is leaders are in psychic (determination/ willpower, etc) contests all the time. If you back down, you lose.
In Boxing, when a boxer goes down, why do refs pull both gloves of the boxer forward?
Refs pull the gloves forward while maintaining eye contact with the boxer to ensure they are capable of continuing the fight.
If I resist and pull right back and look you in the eye - even if I'm bloody I am still in control of my body and conscious and able to fight.
If I fall forward with bleary eyes not looking at you - I'm in no condition to fight and the ref will stop the fight.
Note: To be fair Obama is not "in the room". He thinks it can dial it in. The above mentioned cabal think they can make decision faster than a group led by Putin. Unless the Democrats have had a discussion and a handshake behind close doors, there is no way they can operate as effectively as Putin and company. Putin might not be the smartest person in the room in Moscow, but he is plenty smart and smart enough. So Putin is in charge and everyone in Moscow knows it. The Putin team will be inside the decision loop of the Biden Admin. Meaning they will act usually before Washington can react. That seriously puts the US in jeopardy.
To put it plainly, if you get inside a enemy's decision loop, you can outfight them although they have advantages in men and material.
