BBC: Covid Omicron: Time to consider mandatory jabs, EU chief says
European Union countries should consider mandatory vaccination to combat Covid and the Omicron variant, the head of its Commission has said.
Ursula von der Leyen said vaccines would be crucial in the fight against the "highly contagious" new variant.
Some two dozen countries have reported cases of Omicron, and the EU has tightened travel restrictions since it was first reported earlier this month.
European countries have also been facing a wider spike in cases.
The World Health Organization (WHO), meanwhile, said early signs were that most cases of the Omicron variant were "mild".

What good is Ursula von der Leyen?
She moves form job to job, but did she make the organization she presided over better?
Ursula von der Leyen washed of the German military. Is the German military better? Sure she doesn't pass the budget and the PM sets policy (with input of advice from subordinates or so you would hoper.), but Ursula von der Leyen to the job. If what is needed is not getting done, she needs to tell the PM, the Bundestag (he German federal parliament) and the public know. She needs to inform the PM, grab the the PM by the lapel, or resign in protest.
But he German federal parliament is pure politician so resigning in protest is not in the cards. So she fails upward with the full knowledge and approval of the PM.
Before her stint as defense chief Von Lay'n was Federal Minister of Labour and Social Affairs and Federal Minister of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth. For anon German it would be getting into the weeds to find out what metrics were pertinent and if things got better. Did she merely hold the bag an let bureaucratic inertia move her along?
Ursula is nothing but an upper class welfare mama.
Plagiarism accusations

Those who push and coerce people to take these drugs must be punished to the highest degree our laws allow.

We see this happening with the omicron variant. Found in fully vaccinated people.
It's the same princiciple what happens if you keep using antibiotics.. you create mutated bacteria that survive your onslaught and then become resistant
