Al Jazeera: Iran nuclear talks to resume ‘soon’ after modest gains in Vienna

Negotiators trying to agree on a joint text that would act as the basis for a potential agreement.

The seventh round of talks in Vienna to restore Iran’s 2015 nuclear deal has ended and while it appears progress was made, the negotiating world powers are not close to an agreement.

A Joint Commission meeting of the remaining signatories of the deal the United States abandoned in 2018 was held in Palais Coburg on Friday.

Israel is holding back. When Washington does not care, if Israel increases strikes 5 or 10 fold against Lezbollah or Iranians in Syria, we'll see if the Ayatollahs feel pain. Saudi Arabia likewise has been holding back in Yemen.

Iran talks are very much like the Trump-North Korean talks. While the latter made some historic milestones, nothing was really accomplished. It was all for show. A valve to release steam with no end in sight.

Israel already has 11 tankers. So what gives? Do they not have the range, capacity or correct booms?

The arabs won't help. KC130 doesn't have the range, 707? No.
They need our sats and intel also.

1,198 miles is 42% of the range of a KC130.

However, if the Israelis have to take the long way around the peninsula, then they do not have the range.

The Saudis may cooperate for mutual beneficial operations against the Houthis that are small and deniable, but an air strike with a known route where the Saudis helped Israel would have a lot of blowback.

The Saudis might need the Iranians to justify their state. They just want a more toothless Iran not a totally defanged Iran.
