New York Times Report Says US Drone Strikes Killed Thousands Of Civilians

US drones have killed thousands of civilians, according to a report in The New York Times

Mercury News/New York Times: Hidden Pentagon records reveal patterns of failure in deadly airstrikes

Shortly before 3 a.m. on July 19, 2016, U.S. Special Operations forces bombed what they believed were three Islamic State “staging areas” on the outskirts of Tokhar, a riverside hamlet in northern Syria. They reported 85 fighters killed. In fact, they hit houses far from the front line, where farmers, their families and other local people sought nighttime sanctuary from bombing and gunfire. More than 120 villagers were killed.

In early 2017 in Iraq, an American warplane struck a dark-colored vehicle, believed to be a car bomb, stopped at an intersection in the Wadi Hajar neighborhood of West Mosul. Actually, the car had been bearing not a bomb but a man named Majid Mahmoud Ahmed, his wife and their two children, who were fleeing the fighting nearby. They and three other civilians were killed.

In November 2015, after observing a man dragging an “unknown heavy object” into an ISIS “defensive fighting position,” U.S. forces struck a building in Ramadi, Iraq. A military review found that the object was actually “a person of small stature” — a child — who died in the strike.

None of these deadly failures resulted in a finding of wrongdoing.

Another New York Times hit piece designed to destroy the United States. The monkeys at the NYT would literally put radio controlled charge on each of the wheels of a vehicle they would subsequently drive at high speed an press the button of the remote detonator.

Turkey, Iran China, Russia and many others use drones and the NYT won't say anything much bad about it. The NYT could investigate the use of drone by Azerbaijan in the recent war.

If the NYT was in charge of the War against ISIS starting in 2014, how much "collateral" damage would they have had and would they have won? I am not tired of their desk chair generalship.

when the NYT has years, decades even of getting a story right like slavery in American, they get it wrong. They really do not have room tot talk.

You can't stand the truth!

Modern war is simply too sloppy.

Great idea. Set a precedent that civilian lives don't matter as long as they're killed by a drone, right as the rest of the world acquires the technology.

Stand the Truth? My mother spent the first two years of their life in and out of a bomb shelter. My mother in law remembers the bombing of her city. Then she beat feet out of there. So I think I know a little something about war.

People, who cry over the 2009 helicopter video are not people to be trusted or listened to.

If Jihadis blow up a convoy and kill 2 embedded journalists, the jihadis are not expected to be tried for killing the journalists by "concerned" people.

So why is it with those 2 journalists in 2009?

What were people doing out after curfew? They were jihadis that is what and the journalists were embedded for a story or they were no longer acting as journalists but as jihadis.

People, who are complaining, want not a better military, but no American military. They want defeat. There is no common ground for discussion. All there is to be desired is the complete and utter bankruptcy of the New York Times.

Oh and 5:%2 you are not serious about debating or discussing. You are here simply for propaganda. You put oh so much effort in.
